Works as expected. Received very well packaged in a cardboard tube to prevent damage.20/01/2021 UPDATE: Item broke on second use. When picking up a crisp packet there was a "snap" noise inside the handle. The jaws no longer close when pulling trigger. A little annoying as I used it yesterday, and placed my review above only this morning. Looked at Amazon return and have to pay £3.25 to return it. I'm not paying to return an item that has broken in normal use after only the second time of using it. Have contacted seller and awaiting response from them.22/01/2021 UPDATE: Seller has offered a refund or replacement. Not sure about the durability of this picker design so I have requested a refund. But well done seller for having communicated with me regarding the picker. The issue I had has nothing to do with the reputation of the seller. They have handled my issue really well.

I bought this to help put picking up litter for some voluntary work. It is perfect for that job and can also pick up bottles so quite strong enough.

Disappointingly after using the picker twice it has broken beyond repair.The construction (which you would only investigate post failure) is highly susceptible to failure with barely minimeter of contact between the pulley system and the handle - this is the part pictured and requires the strength of perfect joint, it is not possible to deconstruct the handle.The handle is uncomfortable leaving blisters after use. Additionally, it is stiff to use and often locks rather than closing smoothly which can cause pinching to the skin.I would urge you to look elsewhere as wether you require heavy or light use failure will occur in time.

It is easier to handle than most of these gadgets as it is quite lightweight but also the trigger mechanism is smooth & responsive. The item arrived sooner than predicted as well. As far as sturdiness goes I have not yet used it long enough to say but on initial examination it seems well made.

I’ll never know. It was broken in half when the package was opened. It was wrapped in bubble wrap but had obviously had heavy items placed on top. The tube is very light aluminum so very little mechanical strength. I requested a return which was accepted without question, but what a waste of time. Perhaps a ‘Fragile’ label would have been prudent.
