Cal Hawk Tools CZDBG-3 Drill Bit Gauge

This gauge is sturdy stainless steel. It has an adequate number off sizes. If you use a micrometer, it is not exact, but for a drill bit gauge, to size the right bit to use, this is very adequate for heavy use. My previous plastic gauge, a brand name made in the U.S., cracked and broke after years of use, so I replaced it with this which I will pass along to one of my sons.

I purchased this guide to size out several bits that have been lying around and the sizes cannot be read.I compared the hole sizes against bits that I used a calibrated gauge on for sizing. The hole sizes were accurate and much quicker than using a gauge on them.Longtime, frequent use is not very important, so the aspect of the lettering rubbing off is not very important.The price was reasonable. I would recommend this product.

Used this to sort almost 50 years of accumulated drill bits and place in labeled drawers. Makes a big difference being able to pull the right bit at the beginning. As for accuracy, those bits with markings that can still be read (very few) are identified correctly. Still use it for when I'm working on a project and use a handful of bits. Ensures I return everyone to their proper home.

Arrived in good condition with clear readable markings. It is an essential tool that will last for many years.
