Mine is now FIVE YEARS OLD, and it’s a WORKHORSE.
Each time I use my microwave, I marvel at its durability & POWER! January 2025 will be 5 years since I bought this one & I’ll def. buy one exactly like this one. It’s not just great for microwaving but for baking & as a standard oven too. The only issue I’d say is a SLIGHT DRAWBACK, it takes a good 3 minutes to preheat as an oven. But actually, so does my standard oven. And this Toshiba is big enough to roast a Turkey or bake a big cake. If you have the room & want a versatile device to microwave AND bake, get this appliance. It’s worth every Penny. Just Love it even after FIVE YEARS!

More versatile than my microwave, oven, and air fryer combined.
This microwave oven features convection function and offers 4 auto bake menus plus 4 auto roast menus. Along with the microwave function, you can reheat, bake or grill using either one or both functions. It features pre-programmed sensor menus for popular foods like frozen pizza, popcorn, and vegetables. I wanted a convection oven to replace my air fryer and microwave oven. So after Christmas, I started checking the major retailers for a convection oven and stumbled upon the Toshiba Microwave/Convection Oven on Amazon. The price was right and the oven was actually more versatile than my oven, air fryer, and microwave combined. It is heavy – between 45 and 52 pounds. It is large: exterior dimensions are 21.73" w x 21.38" d x 12.83" h; and interior dimensions: 15.5" w x 15.35" d x 10.2" h and is 1.5 cubic inches. We use the microwave each morning for breakfast: to heat water, cook sausage, bacon, oatmeal, and grill toast. It takes about 7 minutes for the convection oven to preheat to 375 degrees. For dinner on Thursday night, I used a 9 in by 13 in baking dish (no handles) to convection bake a chicken casserole with Alfredo sauce. Tonight, I used a 14.02 x 11.42 inches cast iron pan (includes the handles) to convection grill pork chops with a side dish of asparagus. The casserole was great, and the chops and asparagus were cooked to perfection (juicy, tender, and with grill stripes on the pork chops). I just love my Toshiba Microwave/Convection Oven.

WARNING FOR LEFT-HANDERS
I waited three months to write this review so I could really test it. The most important facts I want to share relate to using it as a convection oven. The entire unit gets very hot. The unit is very large and definitely needs 4 -6 inches from the back and side walls or anything else that could melt. It actually raises the temperature in the house more than using my full size oven. The danger arises if you are left-handed. When you open the door to remove your food, the inside of the door is extremely hot and tends to swing back towards the opening which will very easily burn you, and/or startle you into dropping your hot dish. I finally wised up and learned to throw a small bath towel over the entire door before I try to maneuver the food I am removing. When in convection mode, the fan runs intermittently [about 15 seconds on, 15 seconds off] continually. It is very loud and becomes increasingly annoying if you are in the kitchen while it is running. On a more positive note, its cleans easily, is very roomy, the light is a good feature, and I love the one button controls for the microwave. It appears to be a good quality product. In retrospect, I would have purchased a much smaller microwave and a separate large "toaster" oven, rather than trying to get dual function from one very large appliance.

Been using this for about 6 months
When it comes to microwave cooking frozen foods, I haven't figured out the time on the package vs. the time I actually need. Sometimes it's spot on. Sometimes I need less time. Sometimes, more. Honestly, I think that will happen whichever microwave oven you get. I've been through a few of them by now. When I was introduced to the possibility of a combination convection/ microwave oven (prior to this one), I immediately knew its value to my cooking style. That's pretty much completely why I got this unit. I moved into a new place and needed a unit like this in my life. The beeping is annoying. But you can turn a lot of that (or maybe all of it) off. I haven't sensed any weird odors or sounds out of this unit otherwise. For those times my main oven is needed for 1 thing, this unit has worked beautifully for a second thing (think broiling a steak and baking a potato, or reheating garlic bread without needing to fire up the oven). I would never trust it as Oven 2.0 to actually cook anything beyond a baked potato, but that was my expectation the moment I bought it. I have used both functions of this unit. Yes, it needs more "forward" space due to the extra space on the back of the unit. If you don't take that into account, that's not on them. That's on you. I have this unit on a standalone cart (very limited kitchen space) but prior to that, it was hogging up a lot of space on my counter. I knew that would happen. I bought this anyway. Anyway, if you love cooking, and need to reheat leftovers through the week because you're working from home thanks to the pandemic, or if you need to make a baked potato, or if you need to bake/ reheat anything relatively small that microwaving would wreck, I heartily recommend this unit. Oh, and it's stuuuuupidly easy to clean. But judicious use of paper towels and plastic wrap would mean you don't have to clean it often.

This appliance is efficient and effective. The cooking buttons are super simple to use. The price was so much better than similar units by other brands. What's not to like?

Heats up quickly but no broil function. Relatively quiet. Had for a year - no problems at all - great for homemade pizza, roast chicken, biscuits, croissants etc. We notice that at 20 months in, the maximum temp setting of 425F can no longer be obtained. Our oven thermometer, calibrated to our Bosch wall oven, reads between 275 and 320 degrees with this oven set at 425. It's a little disconcerting to say the least.

There is a burner on top of the oven inside which makes it hard to clean when i have any splatter. Top of oven gets hot on the outside when cooking, so I must remove any dishes that i have sitting there. It has many functions. I would recommend this oven, especially for the price and quality.

A Big Thanks to the vendor who shipped from the US to Sudbury Ontario well with in the shipping rates!! As for a review, this Convection Microwave oven compares to my LG 2008 model that I purchased for$700+ Canadian . Mom's Panasonic has been failing over the years because the quality has dropped off...Not a good brand anymore. Repairs after repair...This Toshiba Microwave Convection oven has a strong 4+star review on both U.S/ Can sites!! Mom's informed me that after the slight learning curve/ comparison....The 2 round racks lack non slip feet. Placing a pan or tray on them causes them to slide around so you have to re adjust them so not to touch the sides of the oven. She mentioned that it ( the outside) seems tinny sounding....My LG does too..So it's just the way they're made. I've said that it's the quality of the inner workings that counts.... Would I buy one for my self?? ...Yes... I bakes, re heats quite well. This oven has Combination cooking features and a bunch of pre sets to do most anything so you DON'T have to use the Big Stove much.... Thanks for bringing this Brand to Amazon.ca!!😁
