Perfect fit on my 2003 e39 530i
I was worried that it wasn't OEM, but the one I pulled off my car was the exact same one! Previous owner must have got the same one! It is very high quality and works perfectly. Car warms up quick and never gets over 202.9 degrees!!!

I you are going to go this far, also purchase a BMW oil cooler thermostat
This part installed fine. No issues. My e46 developed the dreaded water pump leak, and I ended up changing several parts. I am still chasing a problem in that a hose keeps dislodging from its connection, but this seems to be a problem with the clamp that is built into the hose.

This is the factory OEM BMW manufacture for this thermostat so it fits and works 100%%
!00% oem BMW part manufactured for BMW but labeled under the manufacture! I am a master BMW tech since 1987 and have my own shop now so over they years I have come to know the different manufactures of the parts used in BMW's as they were new. With that being said I always try to find parts that are made by the original manufacture but not labeled with BMW packaging and this saves not only me a lot but also I can pass the savings down to my customers. Needless to say this parts fits and works 100% as it should. Thanks and hope this helps.

OEM quality at a fraction of genuine part
I replaced this thermostat housing assembly on my daughter’s 2004 BMW 330ci E46 after her car’s started leaking at a fraction of the cost an automotive repair shop quoted. This is a truly an OEM thermostat housing assembly. If you are mechanically inclined and have the right tools, you shouldn’t have any problems replacing it yourself. It’s very important to thoroughly clean the block’s surface contact with the thermostat housing’s gasket, being extremely careful to avoid damaging it. Use plastic scrapers and abrasive pads only. There’s no need to use any type of sealant, the gasket and matching surface should be clean and dry. It’s extremely important to hand tighten the bolts first and then torque them in a staggered fashion to 89 inch-pounds. Ensure the bolt’s threads are clean, use a small wire brush and resist the temptation to over tighten them. It’s very important not not make the bolts any tighter than that, otherwise you risk warping the thermostat housing, or worse, stripping the block’s threads and ending up with a leak and a damaged engine block. I recommend this item.

Beware of the Wahler Brand! Do some research and you will find...
Purchased in Jan 2015 for my '02 330Ci. Yes it fits perfectly and works fine - apparently, UNTIL!!!! I noticed (only one year later) that it is leaking around the point where an electrical connector is. Then I read on other sites for this brand (Wahler) that it is common. Will not buy Wahler again. Now I have to do all that work over again, less than one year later. A part like this should last at least 2 years minimum.

factory E39 525I Replacement
The oem thermostat on my 03 BMW 525I was stuck open. This was a direct and oem replacement at half the cost of the dealer. There is no need for gasket material or any extra seals. Installation was straight forward and I had it installed and burped the cooling system in about 3 hours. I would highly recommend.
