A Good Dog's Guide to Murder (A Paws & Claws Mystery)

I love this series. After buying the latest book, I reread them all. Unfortunately the nine books only lasted me a week. Sad to finish the last one. I cant say I was a fan of Trixies guide to murder, but maybe that is just me. I do wish Holly and Holmes would speed things up a little, but as long as more books are coming, I can be patient.

Keeps the story moving along.

I usually enjoy reading Krista Davis's Paws and Claws mysteries. I didn't care much for Trixie the dog's musings though. I think these are charming and suspenseful stories. I would love to see Officer Dave as the love interest. He is my idea of an attractive hero and they work well together solving crime.I would also love to see these affordable paperbacks become available sooner. I don't use kindle, I can't afford the hardbacks, and it takes a long time before I can hold one of these wonderful books in my hands. My girlfriend says I should just go to the library. Maybe she's right.

I loved my return to Wagtail in this Thanksgiving time mystery. There was an extra twist in this one because it's unclear who the victim is, what happened or even when. That made it even more difficult to guess the murderer, but more fun to piece everything together with Holly. I so love being back in Wagtail and am always so impressed by how pet friendly it is and imagining a town surrounded by furry companions (even at dinner, which is adorable). I loved the tidbits written by Trixie the doggo about helping your human find and solve a murder! There were festive touches such as a gingerbread contest, Thanksgiving meal, and decorating for Christmas that made it the perfect fall read. There were some especially sad parts that had me feeling so sympathetic and worried at the same time (no spoilers). This book kept me guessing with so many surprises and I loved the ending! I can't wait to return to Wagtail again.

I’ve read all 8 of Krista Davis's Paws and Claws mystery series. Every book took me to a magical dog and cat-friendly town where food for 2 & 4-legged beings made my mouth water to be at the Maple Syrup Inn or any of the delectable restaurants of Wagtail Mountain, VA. I loved Holly, Trixie, and Twinkletoes; their character development captured my heart and had me rooting for their safety many times. If you love cozy, delicious, and who-did-it mysteries, this is the series for you!

I’m enjoying the book so far! It’s the perfect Holiday 2022 Cozy Mystery to read on cold days, especially in your favorite chair by the fireplace! It starts out with Thanksgiving season in the book, which is good for November, and then goes right into talking about the Christmas season after Thanksgiving is over! I recommend you start reading the book during the month of November, since it’s a Thanksgiving and Christmas themed book!

There are a lot of characters. I have trouble keeping up with the connections of my own relatives, so having so many people related to each other in this story was a bit tiring.But all in all it was enjoyable. A bit early for a Christmas story, but it definitely made me look forward to the Holiday season.

I really enjoy this book and this series. However in this book when it’s written as the dog writing this I did Not care for. That’s why I gave this four stars.

Entertaining but not enough "dog" action...:)

i really enjoyed the book and highly recommend it to anyone who likes cozy mysteries especially those with animals. very good series. i have read all of her books and enjoyed them all
