This is a very well thought out treatise on keeping livestock for sustenance during these increasingly fragile and trying times. Mr. Austin shows preppers, off gridders, & people interested in freedom from the yoke of the "food" industry how to raise livestock in an easy to read, understand, and apply manner. Highly recommended-I have working knowledge of some of the subject matter, and applaud the author for assembling this vital text. Rick is a systems thinker, and it shows here-his method is efficient, affordable, accessible, and will carry you through everyday life and cataclysm alike. Well done. Now if I could only get that cheesecake recipe...Get this book! Looking forward to reading his other works and applying them.

This is Rick Austin’s third book in his survivalist series. He is confident and encouraging, spelling out specific how-to suggestions. The book is very pricey, but I’d tell you to go for this one. I want Rick Austin as my neighbor.Go to you tube and watch the Rick Austin “interview” entitled “Can Liberals Survive the Apocalypse?” from The Daily Show. Guaranteed to make you laugh.

Good book. Makes you think outside of the box. Has many of the same tips as other prep books, but does go into better detail and offers good ideas for those not going crazy prepper. I'm building a small sustainable retirement ranch. This books offer good tips. Would buy again.

Loved this book. I read it in an afternoon, so much great information and thought put into this. Changed my view on what animals to raise on my homestead. Going to give rabbits a try now.
