U-Konserve Square Stainless Steel Food Containers with Silicone Lid 50 oz / 1.5 L - Clear

The silicone lid for this is amazing. It's so easy to apply and take off, not like the more plastic-y lid for our other U-Konserve tin that we bought about 6 years ago. You don't need to use force with the silicone lid -- it comes off smoothly and you don't risk spilling/overturning the container when the lid comes off in one big go. The silicone lid is also much clearer/more transparent than the plastic lid. We bought the identical size for this new purchase, and the two lids (the silicone and the more rigid plastic one) are totally interchangeable. I really appreciate how they managed to improve the lid without changing the design of the tin, so things still fit and stack with previous models.

I do not use this item for traveling so I cannot speak to how leak proof it is. I use it at home and it is great. It has replaced my plastic food contains and I no longer hare to worry about plastic leaching into my food. Both the metal container and the silicone lid can go into the dishwasher, my old plastic containers could not do that. I like the square shape because it fits better in my refrigerator and allows me to store more items. The 50 once size allows me to store food that would have required multiple smaller containers. I will be buying more of these.

Love this food storage container! It's the perfect size for leftovers. I love that you can freeze it - great for freezing soups or cut up fruit to put in my smoothies. I appreciate that there is no plastic - not even the lid. We try not to use plastic in our kitchen, so previously we had a lot of glass containers but it is so heavy to pack for picnics, or lunches for school and work (plus they're breakable and we have dropped so many and it's such a pain to clean up). These are lightweight and durable and still don't have plastic, so it's the best of both worlds. Will be buying a lot more of these! Thanks U-Konserve!

Use often for lunches. Like that the lid is flexible.
