Silpat The Original Non-Stick Silicone Microwave Baking Mat, 10.25" Diameter Octagon

Love these mats. Use for cooking which makes cleaning a snap. But what is most amazing about the mats is use on the nuwave PIC. Keeps the top clean (perfect fit with no scratches) and the pots and pans do not slide around the PIC. If there is a boil over no problem. Just blot up and keep cooking. Use in the bottom of the nuwave oven also. Getting ready to buy more. Love them.

This is my second Silpat mat and it does what it is supposed to do. I use it mostly when making cookies or using dough, it works really well in these situations. The hardest thing is to clean these. I have to wash them out at least two to three times each time. I usually let the mat dry before I clean it again. After one wash, even if it was a hard rinse the oil sticks to it.

We have used these for years in our funky Panasonic infrared toaster oven to cover the tray when baking or reheating. They fit perfectly and make clean up quick and easy. We usually keep them 2 or 3 years - they would probably still work longer but seeing how much we use them, it is money well spent.

This octagon Silpat is just right for my 13" pizza pan. I bought this one specifically to stop wasting parchment, sometimes using double/triple layers on top of foil (because I like easy cleanup!) when baking something that oozes grease, like cheddar packed tuna cakes. Silpat is so easy to clean. I do lightly clean it with soapy water and lay it flat to dry as suggested.

I bought this so I would no longer have to use tin foil in the toaster oven. It's also great to put on the microwave turntable instead of a plate or to cover food in bowls temporarily. It slightly overlaps the edge of my toaster oven baking tray, but it works just fine. The instructions say you can use it up to 500 degrees F.Easy to clean with soap and water. I store it with my small baking trays to keep it flat.I have one other Silpat product as well -- they're pricy, but good quality. I don't know why I didn't think of this before.

Information about the fitting/size:My microwave is Whirlpool, model:WMH31017FS-0, the Microwave Glass Turntable Tray is 11&1/8“ from inside the rim where this Silpat microwave mat lay directly, comfortably and perfectly👍🏻* I use it as a protector for the Microwave Glass Turntable Tray so if something spill on it I can easily take the mat out and clean/wash it or spot clean it instead of taking the heavy glass plate and risk to break it , easy breezy :)* also you can use it as a cover to prevent splattering with any microwave safe plate. I didn't know quite what to expect when I ordered this. I wanted it for baking a round free-form loaf of bread in my convection oven, which has an enameled 12" turntable. This did the job. I was able to put a large stainless steel bowl over the whole thing, within the lip of the turntable, so the loaf got somewhat steamed. The only thing that puzzled me was that I had expected it to be slippery. While cleaning it is very easy, being only a matter of rinsing the mat under water, things definitely do not slip on it. That may actually be better for my purposes. It was just a surprise to me.

I bought this specifically to use on the bottom of my 10" diameter bread cloche. It fits perfectly and works well. Was reading the Bread Bible by Rose Levy Beranbaum and she suggested using one. I usually follow her advise as she is meticulous and very detailed in her recipe details, which I appreciate. I was just glad they could still be found, and thank goodness for Amazon.
