Boon Sauce Chili Oil, (8 Ounces), Spicy Chili Oil with Garlic, Anchovies and Shallots

This is my current favorite chili crisp, just nudging out Fly By Jing. There is a nice heat and just a light tingle with the Sichuan Peppercorns that is not too much for those sensitive to it (like me.) It has a good blanace and the garlic does not overpower. There is a lot of crisp, less oil, if that is your thing. It is eons better than the ones made with MSG where all I taste is salt and chemicals.

I don't normally leave reviews, but I felt like I had to leave one for this product, especially because of all the negative reviews I see regarding broken jars on arrival. My package arrived in pristine condition with the jars individually bubble wrapped and placed in seperate boxes. I don't see how this could be packaged any better. If you still have your doubts, order from the boon sauce website, but I think it's worth trying it from Amazon just for the Prime shipping.As for the product itself, this is the most incredible oil I've ever used. It's honestly hard to describe a complex flavor such as this, but it tastes incredible, and goes well with almost anything. Sandwiches? Check! Pizza? Check! Rice? Check! I honestly haven;t found any kind of food that this doesn't pair well with yet. If you haven't tried it before, I wholeheartedly recommend it. I've been buying this since last year.

It's about 1/2 oil, 1/2 chili flakes - I like the flavor. Kind-of pricey, otherwise would've been 5 stars.

Is this product overpriced for what you get? Yes. Is it absolutely delicious? YES. I'm addicted to spicy heat and while this has a bit of a bite it is not all that hot. Overpriced and not a ton of heat; so why do I give it 5 stars? Because the balance of flavor is just perfect. It has something other chile oils don't have. Maybe the anchovies and I don't even care for anchovies but SOMETHING in this has made it my very favorite chile oil! And no, it does not have a fishy taste. Will I overpay for it again? Yes, yes, I will, lol!

Actually one of my favorite chili oils, only problem i have is it's a little pricy for the size, but beyond that the flavor makes it well worth it.

Our all time favorite condiment. Love this product so much and also enjoy the vegan version.
