perfect for double boiler and oatmeal!
This insert is a quality product (get OEM) and fits perfectly in my 6-quart Insta pot. If you have ever burned the bottom of your cooking pot this will prevent it. Set on top of trivit and add 1 cup of water before pressure cooking. Well worth the cost!

It's the real deal
I got this to use for taking lentils and rice to potluck at church, without having to lug around 2 Instant Pots. I make a batch of lentils at home and transport it in the Instant Pot. When I arrive at church, I remove the lentil insert and wrap it up in a towel to keep it warm. Then I put this 2nd insert (which holds the rice/water) into the Instant Pot and set it at 4 minutes while I'm in church. Works like a charm and cheaper than buying a 2nd Instant Pot!

Good replacement tub
I actually use this differently than it's real intended use. I have the "Large" Instant Pot. I like it, but when I make creamy soups they often burn on the bottom. Not charred black, but just dark brown like a toasted marshmallow color and stuck hard to the tub which requires soaking in soapy water overnight and scrubbing to get it cleaned. So, I use this small tub like a "double boiler" inside of the large tub. I put a wire rack in the big tub then sit the smaller tub in it, then fill around the sides with water. I then put my soup ingredients in the smaller inside tub and use the pre-programmed "soup" automatic setting. The soup comes out perfect all the way through without the burnt bottom. So, no more scrubbing! Just pour it into a container to refrigerate after dinner and rinse out the small tub with the hot water from the big tub dish and a bit of soap. Rinse the tubs and let them dry in the dish rack. Done!
