As Good as Dead: The Finale to A Good Girl's Guide to Murder

4.5- wish there was more ending to it, just more drawn out I guess, more details of what happened /what will happen. But still very good, hooked me in right from the beginning and had me trying to think of what was going to happen throughout the whole book. Overall an amazing and fun? series. Personally it kept me guessing and on my toes. Ravi and Pip might be my #1 book couple I’ve read recently. Love love love them♥️♥️

4.5 / 5.0 ok, so, I read other reviews before reading this book and so I spoiled the outrage at the MAJOR turn of events this series took. Now, it is still very good and very satisfying in the end, but it ends on a weak note. This FMC is damaged. She has severe PTSD and the authorities in her home town are so corrupt. Really, the whole story was building to this, from the very first book, and I feel like everyone got their justice, but I wish the angst had been a little more carefully crafted. I wish the every end was more celebratory. The scene in the middle of the book was absolutely terrifying, and the mental anguish of this character is exquisitely written. Overall, a good end to the series but a weak end to the book. Until Next Time MC

Ever since I started this series, I knew without a doubt that it wasn’t one that could go unfinished. It was so new, so creative and so thrilling! I would lose sleep, wondering whodunit and try to put all the pieces together to figure out the villain before the reveal. In the first two installments, I was properly stumped. I didn’t see all of the pieces connecting to reveal the bigger picture until it was laid out in front of me. For this one… not so much. As soon as I started this book, I had an inkling who the suspect was. But, as I’ve been wrong two other times before, I ignored it. The suspicion created an itch that got worse the more I read on. And the more signs that pointed to the person, the more I denied the possibility. Until the reveal pointed out that it was them. And that was about half way through the book. So again I imagined that maybe it was a diversion (which was normally the case) and read along. After some criminal activity, which may I say felt a little off for Pippa and by extension Ravi. Idk but I felt like the characterization that was developed by the first two books faced a major hit in this book. It was like a 360 in behaviors and reactions. More on that later. So the book became less of a whodunit and more of a let’s get away with a crime and frame someone for what we did. Which, for all intents and purposes, would never be a bad thing if it was established at the book’s inception. I was reading to find out whodunit in a murder mystery, not to find out how intact my moral scruples were after some serious crimes took place. So the story felt as if it diverted onto a different path at the end of the series. Again, I wish there was more of an aha! moment so I could feel as gratified as I did with the first two. Despite all of what I said. And the moral quandaries that popped up out of nowhere. I would give this a 5 star and recommend for everyone to read this book. And not just this book but the entire series. Doubling back to the 360 in behaviors. It is interesting that we see all of these changes in Pippa at the book’s end because at the start of the book she was a ‘good girl’. See: A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. And completely changed at the end. So from my viewpoint, all of the events that took place throughout the books transformed her. She was no longer a ‘good girl’ and not by choice. She was made to be like them. They taught her everything they knew. Their blood was on her hands and seeped into her skin, infecting hers with the horrible things they did and continued to do. The one thing I hated was her ghosting her family at the end. I feel like the same impact could’ve been had without that inclusion. But of course that won’t change my feelings or rating. If you’ve read this far, you’re a star!

⚠️ POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD⚠️ Oh my god. This book was amazing. I bought it after buying the first two books together and I loved and hated the ending at the same time. My adrenaline was spiked, my anxiety was peak and my jaw was on the ground during this entire book. I sobbed at the ending and the "Hey Sarge, remember me?" text from Ravi. The ending was bittersweet because of the whole separating part and the getting away with it. I liked this book more than the first two because of the huge plot twist and how Pip had gone from this perfect, straight A, doesn't get into trouble girl to this girl who had gotten away with murder. Like I hated and loved her character development at the same time. And with the news of us getting a tv show and Emma Myers being cast as Pip and Zain Iqbal being cast as Ravi, everything is perfect. Like the cast is just amazing and exactly how I imagined Pip and Ravi. But I hope we get a happy ending in the show. Like with Pip and Ravi reuniting, getting married or something and theres no longer any mysteries to be solved and nothing separates them again. Hands down one of my favorite mystery solving couples.

I loved the first two books in this series and dove into the third eagerly. It was not anything like I was expecting. I enjoyed it but it did not match the first two for me. Pip is clearly and significantly traumatized by the events in the previous book, but is doing her best to hide her PTSD for everyone around her. Weird things start happening around her, but with her mind constantly playing tricks on her already, she doesn’t trust herself to interpret them correctly. She goes to the police for help, and they fail her as they have done every time previously. There are a lot of twists and turns, a lot of connections to the past cases, and it was good to see some happiness in the lives of previous victims. My heart breaks for Pip throughout this book, and I just hope she finally found her happy ending.

I was on the edge of my seat. Very creative plot. Very suspenseful. Best one of the series. I really couldn’t put it down.

Honestly this book had its high and low points. I really enjoyed the series as a whole. But there were some moments that drug on for me.

This is the last book of the series and it is the best book of the series. In my opinion this book is mainly focused on the charater development of Pip, the story is very much engaging, suspenseful and very emotional and touching. I recommend that everyone who has started this series must come to this book and finish this series. Worth buying it. Loved it very much.

On peut vraiment dire que ce tome trois est une apothéose. En tant qu'autrice, je suis absolument admirative du travail de Holly Jackson. Elle a réussi à créer une boucle avec sa trilogie, une intrigue qui relit les trois histoires ensemble avec brio. Je ne sais pas comment elle a fait pour prévoir des choses depuis le premier tome, de glisser des indices insignifiants, qui prennent leur importance dans le dernier opus de la saga, mais c'est juste brillant ! On retrouve Pip et sa bande après la Spoiler(cliquez pour révéler) Pip est traumatisée, en plein stress post-traumatic et j'ai trouvé que ses sentiments étaient extrêmement bien retranscrits. On ressent même sa "presque folie" dans la narration. Un style un peu haché, un peu brouillon (qui ne nous empêche pas de suivre avec délice l'histoire). Ravi est toujours incroyable dans ce tome, plus que les précédents. Et je vais vous dire, le nom de cette saga (a good girl guide to murder) prend tout son sens avec ce troisième tome... Je m'étais d'ailleurs demandé pourquoi elle avait donné ce titre et je comprends, maintenant ! Quelle génie ! J'aurais mis ce tome dans ma liste de diamant si la fin ne m'avait pas paru aussi rapide. J'avais besoin d'un tout petit épilogue pour au moins me remettre du stress et de l'angoisse, du suspense insoutenable vécu tout au long des pages. Mais ce n'est que mon avis. Franchement, foncez, cette saga est juste incroyable ! Un coup de génie !
