In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

Great performance shoe
Great shoes! We love Asics in our house, so I guess we might be partial to the brand. My kids are hard on shoes and Asics always hold up considerably well through school and play. With my 10 year old, Asics will last him at least 3/4 of the school year, whereas most other brands are shot by Christmas, if not before. And that's just from wearing them to school. He's so tough on shoes, but I prefer this brand because, as I said, they hold up well. Not only that, but they always fit him comfortably. Every pair he's ever worn he's never had any complaints about. His feet are on the wider side, and these shoes don't pinch nor cause discomfort, even though they are not specifically a wide size. Great shoes for kids!

Great for my 2nd grader.
My son finally decided that he wanted to get sneakers instead of the keens that he has been wearing forever, and I have to say, my nose is thirlled! While keens are great, the smell, not so much.He picked out these, because of the color mostly I think, but said they fit the best.He loves the bright colors, and insists that these shoes make him run faster than before. (Hey, who am I to burst his little bubble of excitement about exercise, right?) They have held up so far to a few weeks of gym class and school. I haven't broken down and allowed them for biking riding yet...They lace up really well, seem sturdy and I like the footbed as a mom, it seems to have proper support for the foot and ankle.

Review for Gold Ribbon Version.
I will be reviewing the Blue GOLD RIBBON version of this shoe. Not the others for sale in this listing. While they are similar they have some differences that I would say make them rate a bit higher than the regular Noosa 10'sI have a runner. He is 9. In June he has already ran 3, 3k's, 3 1mile races, multiple sprints. He has two triathlons in the works for later this summer and 3 more 5K races. That does not count his practicing distances. This will be his 3rd year buying Asics Gel-Noosa Tri shoes. He started with two pair of 9's then one pair of 9 Gold Ribbon ones, then this pair.He has run in other shoes, Adidas being one of them, and used to enjoy New Balance, but he has a high arch and these work best for him. This year we also purchased a pair of the more expensive Asics Gel Quantum 360's but he couldn't make the switch over work. Those 360's are designed for kid athletes in mind according to Asics but in comparison to the Noosa they are a heavier shoe, they seemed to him to have a lower arch support as well so are not as comfy when he runs. So when Noosa 10's went on sale we bought him another pair so that he could run with what was most comfortable and familiar for him. He LOVES them.He wants me to say the color of the (blue) gold ribbon shoes looks way better in person. The last two pair of shoes he has gotten in Noosa are the Gold Ribbon ones that Aisics says they give a portion of the sale to a Kids Cancer group. That is the story of the gold versions verses the other varieties of this shoe. One main advantage of this Gold Ribbon version in this particular shoe (Noosa 10) is that it does not have the painted parts on the fabric of the shoe that in so many other negative reviews is peeling off the shoe. Even my son said his friend had them at school and his peeled off right away. While the Noosa 9 gold ribbon did peel off eventually they stayed on a lot longer than these new Noosa 10 reviews have stated. We have been quite happy with all our Noosa purchases. His last pair made it a whole year with heavy use without the shoe falling apart. I should have purchased him another pair from the amount of use mainly because of the footpad with the mount of running he does, but he technically grew out of the shoe before it was unusable which for a 8-9 year old boy is unheard of these days especially since his foot took a year to grow to the next size. (I know I won't be as lucky with foot growth this year so now that he has transitioned well to this shoe we are at this price buying the next size up just waiting for that big boy foot growth spurt. We always switch to lock laces for all his Asics and they work well. I know larger sizes in the Noosa used to include lock laces and normal laces, but the kids version never have. I wish they would. The photos I have included are the old (1 year of heavy use Noosa 9's gold ribbon version) next to the new (Noosa 10's Gold Ribbon Version) In the sole the main difference is they added a cross support in the arch area. I think this is a good upgrade for the 10's.Why he likes this shoe: High arch support. Light weight. Durable. His feet don't hurt when he goes on long runs like they have in other shoes. He has used Noosa's for his last 4 shoes and runs a lot, couldn't switch to another (more expensive) style because they didn't work for him.We can't speak to sizes as they are true to Asics size but Asics is the only shoe he has had for the last few years so no help for measuring for newbies. His foot is not narrow, and is right on the edge of considered wide, but not specifically wide, Closer to wide than narrow, and these work for him. This is his shoe. While I have described this specific pattern in the past as grandma's old carpet. They are growing on me. They don't look that bad on him and I for sure like them better than the other colors available. He also likes that not everyone has the Gold Ribbon versions as they are not sold in every store that sells Noosa so his friends might have regular Noosa but not Gold Ribbon. So his shoe is more individual than all the others.

Great shoes for a good/ reasonable price.
I ordered these shoes for my 7 year old daughter, and she absolutely loves the vibrant colors. I read the pervious reviews about them running a little small , about a half size smaller. So I decided to order her a2 1/2 since she normally wears a size 2, I'm glad I did. She has plenty of room to grow but they aren't too big either, they fit just right. I to love the bright colors and the shoes seems to be well made. Also, she says they are comfortable to wear.I definitely recommend these shoes.

Great running shoes, super cute but run a size small
Shoes are super cute and comfy but definitely order a size up. My son measures a 3.5 (have a sizer at home) so we purchased 3 different shoes in a size 4 for school. Both of the other brands were perfect and had room these shoes, his toes were right at the end. Had to try both a 4.5 and 5 to settle on the 5. So after 3 pairs of these I've found every single pair fit a size smaller than marked.

Good quality supportive shoe, fun colors
12 year old son loves these for the wild bright colors. They are very comfortable and supportive. I can't comment on the arch support of the shoe because he has flat feet and over pronates so he uses separate footbeds in all his shoes to correct his alignment. The shoe is sturdy and well made, holding up to everday wear. He uses them as a casual/active shoe, not a running shoe because he needs a shoe that provides more structure for stability than fashion brands like Sketchers.

Love these running sneakers
Love these running sneakers. I bought a second pair. I only wear them for running but I would imagine they would be comfortable all day. The colors are great and the design seems durable so far.I have a women's size 5 so it's hard to find sneakers in my size that fit good so I wear kids sneakers. Most are uncomfortable or have lights in the heals (ha ha) but these are comfortable and don't look like kids.
