Absolutely love using this herb it's downright earthy bitter taste yet hint of sweetness makes it perfect to add to hot and cold drinks, cereals, and yogurt. The reasons I purchased Amla ( will continue to do so ) are immune booster, effectiveness, texture, head colds, and lastly the smell. I can not make claims on its ability for hair growth because have not used it as such. Overall, Amla is my go to cannot go without !

I mixed the amla powder with a packet of true lime cherry and 24 oz of sparkling water, and it tasted fine.

This is definitely high-quality amla powder—pure, organic, and fresh. You can tell from the color and texture. That said, if you’re new to amla, be prepared: it’s very tart and earthy. I mix it with a spoon of honey and chia seeds to balance the flavor. Great for digestion and immune support, especially during cold season.

One teaspoon of gooseberry powder costs about four pennies and provides 1,500 units of antioxidant power, which is more than the average person gets in an entire week.’ The powder itself is very fine and easy to mix into my smoothies. You can also mix in water. It has a slightly tangy taste so I prefer it in a smoothie. I also love that it’s a completely organic product—no additives or preservatives. It’s a fantastic addition to my daily routine!

I bought this for all the antioxidants and potential to lower cholesterol. I wasn't sure what to expect flavorwise, but was pleasantly surprised that it didn't taste bitter to me -- taste seems more lemony than anything else. I mix 1/4 tsp with a little warm water, or mix it in with a small serving of beet juice. The tart flavor actually makes the earthy beet juice taste better to me. I find it blends fairly easily with a milk frother. I'm happy with this purchase and brand so far.

Update: My small town Dr. wanted to see the heavy metal testing report on this. Terrasoul sends it if you call and request it. Yes, Amla and Triphala both tested very low. UPDATE: June 2018. I have been using 1/2 tsp per day since I bought this in Oct of 2017. My Cholesterol went from 178 (not bad) down to 152! Seriously, I didn't buy this for cholesterol control, but just for the antioxidant potential. Just wanted you to know it does work for lowering cholesterol. Indian Gooseberry (AMLA) has been used for hundreds (thousands?) of years for the treatment of many medical conditions and diseases. This MD has several videos that detail scientific studies on this product. It is the best antioxidant on the planet. Interesting reading/viewing there, you will be impressed. The dose he recommends is 1/2-1 tsp per day. It's pretty dry and dull tasting, so put it in a smoothy or something. This organic brand is highly recommended for purity.
