Q: About how wide is it? I just spent 65 at laconia ans snaps broke and its only as wide as a softball at best

The bag is about as wide as your softball reference. I am happy with the build, quality, and style of the bag. It is definitely not meant to be what you would find on a bagger. I have a nylon drawstring backpack folded up (take up very little space) incase there comes a time a need to hall back items from a road trip. Other than that it holds what I need on a day trip type of ride.
