The 7 Habits of Happy Kids Review: Book Review: The 7 Habits of Happy Kids by Sean Covey - I first came across The 7 Habits of Happy Kids when my mom picked up a copy at a thrift store. I’d never heard of it before, but I was curious and asked to borrow it. After reading it, I loved it so much that I decided to get my own copy—for my future kids someday. Honestly, I wish I had this book growing up. It’s simple, yet so impactful. I really believe it would’ve helped me grow in so many ways. I’m currently working through the adult version (The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People), and while that book is deep and sometimes a lot to take in, reading the kids’ version alongside it adds so much more. It helps me understand the principles on a more practical and emotional level. The whole idea of having “habits” for happiness and healthy growth—whether for kids or adults—is such a powerful concept. This book breaks it down in a way that’s relatable and easy to understand, with stories that even adults can learn from. It’s not just a children’s book; it’s a valuable life tool. I highly recommend getting a copy—not just for your kids or future kids, but for yourself too. It’s one of those rare books that can touch hearts at any age. Honestly, part of me wants to give this book to people who don’t love reading, or even those who struggle with reading, because it communicates something truly important in a way that’s so accessible. It’s so good. So worth it. Keep it nearby—your heart will thank you. Review: Great Book to discuss Good Habits with kids - A great book with seven stories that teach kids independence and good habits to deal with various situations. The stories feature characters who are used throughout to book to deliver specific message. The first story "I'm bored: is a child's explanation of how boredom is a personal choice, kids shouldn't depend on others to entertain them. It encourages initiative and being responsible for your own happiness. The other six stories include having a plan, work comes before play, everyone can win, listen before speaking, together is better, and balance is best. My daughter looked forward to what the gang was up to next and how they would fix it. There are discussion questions at the end of each story. The stories feature repeating characters and seem especially geared to grades 1-4. There's no heavy handed advice or sense of minimizing a kid's concerns in this...self-awareness and making good decisions is the goal. I really enjoy this with my own son. The stories stand up to repeated readings, and each time you go through it you can emphasize a different point without seeming to be lecturing or prying.

Common sense help without Lectures
A great help to elementary age students to help assist with schoolwork and life, this book is used by our school's counselors to help kids that are behind, overstressed, or lost in the school system. The stories in this, which are presented in a picture book style but with follow up questions at the end, illustrate simple facts that happy kids need to know. The first is a child's eye explanation of how happiness is a personal choice, and that kids shouldn't depend on others to entertain them or "fix" boredom for them. It encourages them to act for themselves and be proactive in their own mental health. The second story illustrates good problem solving and planning, showing how a child can possibly create a budget or spend their money in a way that is wise and well thought out. The stories feature repeating characters and seem especially geared to grades 1-4. There's no heavy handed advice or sense of minimizing a kid's concerns in this...self-awareness and making good decisions is the goal. I really enjoy this with my own son. Deserves 10 Stars!!!
This book will exceed your expectations! I bought it for my 6 year old, who was captivated at first by the inside covers, but it just kept getting better! This is one book you can accurately judge by its cover--it's sure to make everyone happy! After reading the first chapter at bedtime, my daughter was literally begging me to continue. Even *I* had a hard time putting it down, so we both eagerly agreed to read more the first thing in the morning, which we promptly did upon waking. This book is just as entertaining and valuable for parents as it is for their kids! We love reading this book as a family and my daughter loves discussing each story and the relevent lessons she can apply to her daily life. As parents, we get a wonderful opportunity to reinforce our messages to her in a positive, fun, receptive environment--which is when they stick better. I can truly say we are all benefitting from this book. This is easily our most prized book and the best investment in a "children's" book we have made. I am giving one to every child I know--it is a must for every library for anyone who wants the best for their kids in life and wants to empower their children! I highly recommend you approach this book as a family and learn the 7 habits of a happy family together! What you'll find in this book: - Captivating, energetic, fun, charming illustrations with vibrant colors. - Each story is skillfully plotted with entertaining, smart, realistic and thoughtful story lines. - Excellent discussion tips at the end of each chapter/habit to reinforce and prompt discussions. - High quality paper and binding. - Hours of quality time with your child and, if you read and APPLY the habits, too, and set the example, you will very likely receive a great return on your investment--productive, responsible, emotionally balanced kids. I can't recommend it highly enough and would give it 10 stars if I could. Obviously, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree...Sean Covey has created and continued the exceptional legacy...

Good story narrator. Lots of pictures for the kids to imagine. Both my 6yr old and 10yr old kids love it.
