Great knife
Great knife that holds and edge, and arrives extremely sharp from the factory with a nice storage box. Thick durable construction, clean looks and and excellent value. If you want one get it.

Great buy for the price
I'm a novice, self taught sushi chef. The final part of my journey was cutting through my rolls without crushing them and having flat, not round, rolls. I researched my problem and discovered that a Yanagiba knife was the answer. My only use for the knife is cutting through sushi rolls, and this is sharp enough to make clean cuts without flattening as you can see from the picture. Real Japanese knives cost hundreds to over a thousand dollars each. This knife is a great Chinese reproduction, suitable for my needs. It's sharp and comfortable to hold as well as easy to clean.

Very Good value for the price.
As a home chef I am always looking for new tools at reasonable prices to expand my collection. I learned about the benefits of this blade style and found this knife. It's a beautiful knife with a Damascus blade and a hardwood handle. The hexagonal handle is good but not great for comfort. Blade was very sharp when received and held its edge for months. I had a professional blade shop sharpen it and it is holding the new edge very well. Very good knife for the price point.

Great beginner knife!
Super shape out of the box but will need whetstone sharpening about every other week to a month depending on how often you use it/what you’re cutting with it. I’m a sushi chef and have a lot of fun using it at work but it’s definitely not for skinning whole loins or slicing sashimi. Get you a nice yanagiba for that. But it’s perfect for slicing through rolls and has that classic Japanese look and feel. The grip of the octagonal shape of the handle feels a little sharper than others I have (similiar style set) but I’m sure will smooth out as I use it more. Great blade shape! Performs kind of like a short fat chefs knife or like a chefs mixed with a santoku so you get best of both worlds for cutting technique! Nearly perfect balance for nice stability when using. Excellent quality for the price and look! Instant classic and one of my favorite new toys already! My only wish is that I wish it came with a felt lined sheath or wooden sia. I’d pay $5 more for the standard sheath or $10 more if it came with a sia that fit! But seeing as we’re on the cheap things delivery app it’s easy to just buy something from another brand.

I’m a professional chef and have been for 10 years. This is a wonderful knife for anyone just starting to cook or someone like myself who uses knives everyday in the workplace. I wanted a vegetable knife that wasn’t as expensive as a shun or miyabi but still holds a good edge . This knife delivers that. It has a little bit of weight to it which is very nice when cutting through large onions or carrots . It has a good balance . It stays sharp and looks beautiful, doesn’t look cheap like alot of 40$ knives do. The handle is beautiful as well and makes for an easy hold. The nonstick coating along with the hammered blade is gorgeous. It’s a beautiful knife that gets the job done and maintains a good edge, I also don’t have to worry about dropping or chipping it because it was only 40$ . When I use my Miyabi I am very meticulous where I put it and how I treat it because it’s a higher class of knife that requires more care and costs alot more money . This knife delivers everything you need and I will defenitly be buying more products from this company in the future .

Good knife for the loot. Not a Japanese knife and not in the ballpark.
This is a good knife for what it costs. It is not a high end Japanese knife. It feels fairly janky in comparison to a good Japanese knife. You’re not going to spend $40 here and get the real thing. I sent my Shun knives off for sharpening and bought this guy to work with until they come back. It’s pretty good! Doesn’t balance all that well, which I expected. And it’s heavy. It came decently ok sharp. Feels pretty decent in the hand. Blade is straight. I feel good about the purchase. I’m keeping it around as a knock around knife and something to bring on camping trips and vacations. It’s a $40 knife. It’s a good knife. If you’re just starting out getting serious about cooking, don’t buy this knife. Spend $100 or so and get a real knife.
