Amboyna Burl comes from South East Asia, mainly Indonesia, and the very special curled wood almost exclusively from the Maluku Islands. This curled wood is also called Manila Padauk, Curly Padauk or Burmese Rosewood, when it is traded legally or sometimes when it finds its way via darker channels to the West European marketplace.
