Conditioning and maintaining your hair color with every wash has never been easier.
I had some doubts about this color-depositing conditioner, but after the first application, I could see that it really works. A year ago, I stopped dyeing my hair because it was damaging it too much; but the ends still looked oxidized and yellowish from overuse of dyes. With this product, I've been able to even out my hair color. My roots enhanced their natural color and became shinier and silkier, and my ends almost reached my natural color, resulting in hair with a uniform color. I love that this product is vegan; it's free of parabens, sulfates, and harsh ingredients. It also contains katiré butter, coconut oil, and avocado oil to nourish and leave hair soft and shiny. This conditioner also comes in multiple colors to suit any style and need. I really loved this product and I recommend it 100%.

Black velvet might make you blue
This does exactly what it says it does. I bought the black velvet. I have a been dying my hair dark brown semi permanent but it always looks brassy and washes me out after a couple of weeks. I also have a lot of white/silver hair when my hair is growing out. The overtone made the brown hair black but it did turn my white/silver blue. It is a dark blue. It looks cool but just a warning for anyone with white hair it could turn it blue.

Great for recommendation for men
This color depositing conditioner has been a great addition to my routine. I mainly use it in between hair dyeing, and it works especially well for maintaining color without having to fully re-dye. I use a dye shampoo first, and then about once every two weeks—sometimes twice—I use this to refresh the color. It holds up very well and keeps the color looking even and consistent. The conditioning aspect is solid. It leaves hair feeling hydrated and soft, not dry or damaged, which is important with any color product. The coverage is thorough, blends well, and doesn’t look patchy or unnatural. The color stays in nicely between washes and fades evenly rather than washing out in spots. The scent is also manageable—not overpowering or unpleasant. I appreciate that it’s damage-free, vegan, and cruelty-free, which is a plus. Overall, this is a great option if you want to maintain color between dyes, reduce how often you use harsher products, and keep your hair healthy. I’d definitely recommend it, especially for men looking for an easy, low-maintenance way to keep their hair color fresh.

They changed the formula and now it’s terrible!!
I’ve been using Overtone for years. I had my hair blue for a long time and used the Extreme Teal color continually. Yes it would stain your hands and tub, but it washed out eventually and didn’t really bother me. It would leave my hair a little dry, but I just used a separate conditioner and didn’t really mind. I’ve never been a huge fan of mint but the scent wasn’t that bad and I got used it to. I used to order directly off of the original site until I recently found it cheaper and easier to order on Amazon. Currently I have dyed my hair a purple burgundy color and have been mixing Scarlet Red and Royal Plum. Everything had been going fine as I would expect from Overtone, and I would have left 4-5 stars. Until my most recent purchase. Instead of receiving 8oz cylindrical bottles, I received 4.5oz smaller squeeze tubes. At first I thought it might be easier to get it out and that might be nice. Until I used the new bottle. The consistency was different, the smell was different, and it BURNED MY SCALP!! I have NEVER had this happen with Overtone before! I didn’t even notice much of a color change after I finished thoroughly rinsing the burning sensation off of my head! It seems like they have diluted it, added more mint, ruined the formula, put it in a smaller tube and charge more per ounce for what was once a good product but is now unusable! I will NOT be buying this anymore!!

Great for temporary color, easy to use.
Works great! I bought this in three colors - my daughter has dark brown hair and has a bleached blond streak, so we can now mix and match the colors. My bestie is a stylist and told me to buy this type of temporary conditioner and keep it on much longer than recommended— sure enough, about 30-40 min works best. I’d say it lasts well for 3-4 washes, but don’t mind when it fades… so I update it once every month or so. Her hair is so dark that I can have dark hair in the dying section and it doesn’t make much difference. So, I use aluminum foil under the section, squish on color, rub it in with gloves on (just cuz I don’t want a mess) - pinch the foil closed (I fold it up close to her head) and let her play for half hour or so. Rinse with clear water and you’re good to go!

Virgin Brown Hair. Use as a gel!
Ordered Orange for Brown color depositing conditioner. I have never dyed my hair. Hair color matches eyebrows in video. This product didn't deposit during conditioning but color achieved by using as a hair gel. Hair gel option looks great and held my curls. Applied to clean, dry hair. Air dry or diffused. Then added hair oil. Loving it

Did Not Meet My Expectations
I couldn't wait to try this product so that I could see the results and compare it to another popular brand that I was already using. I will say in this review that I am about 50-75% grey, that's my caveat. After I used Overtone 4 times I came to my conclusion and that is that it does not cover the grey well and that the color results was a faded look. It looked as though I had tried to color my hair but was unsuccessful, it looked faded after each use. The color was also disappointing in that everyone who knew me commented that I had changed my hair color to be more of a bright copper/red. That was not the look I was going for at all. I was in search of a copper/brown look. So to resolve the issue I went back to my previous brand of temporary color conditioner and loved the results. It greatly toned down and evened out the brassiness of Overtone. You decide. But for me Overtone was too bright, the wrong color result, and had poor coverage. My preferred brand is Clenditioner in the shade of Mocha vs Overtone in Golden Brown. Both products are intended to be used daily as they are tinted conditioners and that is how I used both of them. Also Clenditioner lasts longer in my hair so that after 2-3 days in a row of use I can skip 2-3 days of use and experience no color fading at all. Everyone's hair porosity is different but that was my experience.
