Chasers of the Light: Poems from the Typewriter Series

I bought this book for myself years ago, and have gifted it a number of times since. I find the poetry easy to connect to and very moving, and the artistry of the presentation is inspired. Everyone I have given it to speaks highly of it, too. I’ve purchased other books from this author, all of which are great, but this is a favorite in my whole collection. One of the books I find myself opening most often, in any variety of moods, where I can usually find at least one poem that beautifully lays out the words that I couldn’t find on my own.

I believe things come into our lives for a reason. Three years ago, Tyler's poetry came into my life when I needed a sign for hope and courage. Recently divorced I had trouble believing in love. Broken, shattered, and bitter Tyler's words breathed fresh air into my worn out soul. I called my ex and shared his words knowing this would help us heal. Three years later we still find joy sharing Tyler's words and photos. Knowing how thrilled she would be, I purchased this book for her. We read it together. Tyler's poetry has given us courage to believe and to love. Something neither of us thought would be possible after the divorce. We have moved on with our lives and are happier as friends. I hope one day soon she will find love again and that she will get the three things she wants the most on her wedding day. The first, marrying a man that truly loves her, the second, an original Tyler Knott Gregson poem to commemorate the wedding, and lastly to have Tyler capture the first moments of her new life.Tyler, thank you for sharing your words and photos with us. This book of poetry is a must read for everyone. Do yourself a favor and read this book and then go to Tyler's website and read the rest of his poems, haiku's, and black out poetry. Your life will be richer, and fuller.

I started this one months ago, and just now finishing this. I love the clever way he uses different media to feature his poetry ( pages of old books, backs of grocery receipts, invoices, etc) it makes the poems feel personal and intimate. Most of Tyler's poems are love poems, but there's also some observations and a few odds to nature. I've been to Montana once, Missoula. It is pretty country. Nice to read poetry that is passionate and thoufhtful

A must for any poetry reader!

I am a fan of Tyler Knott Gregson and I was eager to get this book with his poems all gathered in one place. I liked it but I found I had read most of the best written in the book, already in other places. There wasn't much new for me. Having said that, I am still an enormous fan of all I have read previously that is included in the book. Some of the styles of poems with all words blacked out but a few aren't necessarily my favorite style, but in general, I like how he presents his writing.I think this book would be great for anyone who likes poetry about love, life and relationships. Tyler Knott Gregson writes things that touch you and make you feel like he knows what you have been thinking and feeling all along. I look forward to more of his work.

Worth every penny. Must censor by stating I’ve never read it myself. But I bought it for my wife who is a picky reader. Now, she keeps this book in her purse. Something will happen, or she’ll have a sudden thought and pull out her book, go to a random page and read the “poem of the day”, as she calls it, out loud to me or the children. Every single one I’ve heard has been beautiful. We’ve enjoyed breaking them down on long car rides and telling stories about experiences of which a poem reminds us.

I gave this to my 14 year old niece, she read the last page and cried. I wanted to introduce her the The Typewriter Series, me think it was a great success. I read it before I gave it to her and I really liked it too.

Tyler Knott Gregson is astoundingly gifted. This man speaks the language of my heart. He captures life in an intensely vibrant palpable way. Highly recommend. This book in particular lit me right up.

Tyler has always been one of my favorite modern day poets.I connected deeply with this Type Writer Series back when it came out in 2014.Took me so long to purchase it though😄 This collection ranges from love, life and sadness in my opinion. I love how he composes his poetries, his choice of papers/materials as well.The intro tells the story of how this series came to be.

This book was not AT ALL what I expected...it was so much more! I am a huge fan of Tyler Knott Gregson. I own the prints, pin the pins, follow on all medias. I know what his poetry reads like. I know what his poetry feels like. What I did not know was what it would look like in the format of a book and how that book would make me fall in love with his words all over again. To own a collection, with a beautiful hardcover and gorgeous glossy pages full of color, photography and prints of his originals is wonderful. It is a mini coffee table book that you want to leave out for all your guests to peruse and touch and absorb all its glowing contents. It is the perfect size to add to your bookshelf for you to pull out and lift your spirits when your heart feels heavy and you just need a lift. It may even fit in your bag to carry with you everywhere you go because you just want to introduce the world to this book and share the passion of its work! It is beautiful, it is complex, it is simple, it is love.
