Runs warm
This thing fgn cranks OPNsense. Full IDS/IPS. Hardware is great, 4 Intel NICs and even wifi. 4GB ram, full x86. Runs a lil hot but expected as it's a fanelss quad core. Just buy a 120mm USB fan if you're concerned. Fits in your hand. Solid construction. Beats paying several hundred for a firewall.

Using as firewall
I installed pfsense on this and used it for a firewall at a temporary location. Worked great and so far seems really stable!

What a great little box.
I bought this item to create a custom router using Pfsense, and for that, it is working out to be a very capable router. This is the second custom router that I built for my parents, and if this was available when I built the first one I doubt I would not have needed to build a second.

Great Pfsense Box
This works perfectly for a pfsense machine. The computer is silent and stays cool when running. Additionally the four NICs (ethernet ports) allow a lot of flexibility in setting up your network. This is much a better deal than repuposing an old pc that used 50 times more power if you're just running something simple like pfsense.

Great price
Great little machine. I use it for a firewall running OPNsense. Works great doesn't get hot. My internet speeds went up due to the firewall taking over all my networking stuff from my Netgear Nighthawk router.

So far so good as a firewall
Using it with an open source firewall and so far so good. Only problem I have with it is that if it loses power, I'll need to manually push its button to power back up.

Lasted less than a week
After a very annoying time trying to get into the bios (had to use a different USB keyboard) I was able to get it set up and loaded with PFsense. The install went smoothly and the unit operated as it should for about 4 days then died. I noticed I wasn't able to browse or log into work so I went up and reset it. There was no beep, no nothing. Just dead. I had an old core2duo mini PC running PFsense since 2015 with zero issues. I just wanted something smaller and more efficient. I would not recommend as most of us running PFsense want reliability and this isn't it.

Excellent for PFSense - Low Power Consumption and small footprint!
Bought this to run PFSense without consuming a ton of electrical power. Previously was running a xeon server which was complete overkill. Installing PFSense was a bit of a challenge initially as the unit comes with Windows 10 pre-installed. Once going into Windows 10 and changing to advanced boot to boot from USB you can then easily overwrite the default (unlicensed) install of Windows 10 with the PFSense installation. Then, going forward PF Sense boots with no problem. The quad port intel nic is one of the best features of this unit which allows for future expansion when needed. The unit is perfect for this usecase and the price point is spot on. Highly recommend.
