An excellent go-to wireless mic set
The Hollyland Lark M1 wireless mic set is an excellent addition to any camera kit. Whether you're recording an interview, podcast, field audio, reference audio for a film, then this kit can definitely provide you with a long range very reliable high quality audio solution. The battery life is excellent, and the charging case means that you can keep the kit running for an entire production day if needed. The availabililty of both Black and White versions of the Lark M1 is also very useful when needed to be discrete at events like weddings.I do recomment that you pre-test the audio levels and make sure you know how to set the devices up, as the default for the mic's is to run quite hot - a lot of pre-gain in the transmitter. So read the manual and test before rolling live!!!(like we all should do in any case!)

This is a great buy, am glad i got one.
The media could not be loaded. Okay so first, i like it the sound is really good but if you have a T-shirt on its kind of easy to muffle the microphone but not a deal breaker. You just have to figure out how to best put it on.The other thing, is the logos on the transmitters i wish they were not white and on both sides. If your going for a more professional looking video your going have to figure how to hide the transmitters, and again with out muffling the sound. Now the receiver has a logo but it’s just stamped and not colored white. They should have done the same thing to the transmitter. But everything else is excellent the charging case the quality of the sound it’s easy to set up. It’s also really small and easy to carrier around.

Perfect for casual vlogging/streaming setups
The media could not be loaded. A little bit of background, I own the Rode Wireless GO 1 then moved on to the Hollyland Lark 150 and was looking forward to getting the M1 with the intention of finding out where this product sits when compared to the older 150.A quick glance says that it would be a step down:- lack of safety track feature- lack of 3.5mm mic jack- less flexible gain controlHowever, once I started fiddling with the device I began to understand that this was made for a different market. It becomes apparent when you try out the HearClear noise reduction feature on the transmitters. This feature is perfect for on the go capture where you don't have the luxury of post production for example, IRL streaming, quick turnaround shoots, casual vlogging, mobile vlogging. In fact, the HearClear works almost better than the default noise reduction feature in davinci resolve. I believe with a little tweak to the firmware over time, they will perfect the algorithm to remove background noise while maintaining vocal clarity here. Not forgetting the price point here. This is really a bang for your buck and IMO, a no-brainer on whether to get this. Will I use it for high budget shoots where I need absolute control over the audio? Nah. Will I use it for everything else? YES!

Another option bites the dust. Disappointed.
When I received the unit I made a few test recordings and things went well. The sound wasn't going to win any Grammy's, but for the money with out of the box settings it was good enough for what I do.The first thing I noticed was making adjustments was difficult to see where you were. Was noise canceling on or off? What about the volume setting? Yes, there are lights and buttons but each thing has multiple functions and some of us don't want to reference the manual each time we use a product. A huge help would be a screen that says when a feature is on or off and how high the volume is. Most reliable method I found was making a test recording, play it back and listen. This is cumbersome and inefficient.Speaking of volume level, the instructions essentially said to turn your recording device down to almost nil. To me this means the receiver sends a very hot signal and they know and chose not to address it. Maybe my camera doesn't have an input volume setting, maybe the low setting is still too hot, or I don't want to chase through several menus to find it. Why can't I control the Lark M1 output volume instead? All these are preferences, but the biggest problem - aside from sound quality - was the devices wouldn't always pair. They LOOKED paired, but weren't communicating consistently and I wouldn't know until the recording was complete. Sometimes the left mic wouldn't record (even though it showed connected) but the right mic worked. Other times it was reversed. Instructions say placing them in the case re-syncs them but it never worked for me. When the mic(s) didn't work I got nothing but static on that channel. When they did work the quality was OK, not great but OK.I messed with this for two or three days and realized I had more time in troubleshooting than I did recording. I decided the best place for the Lark M1 was away from my house and back in the sellers hands. I'm not sure what the five star review guys experienced, but my experience lasted less than 72 hours and I had boxed up the device and shipped it back to the seller. Making videos is a hobby and I simply don't have time to devote to troubleshooting something I purchased that was supposed to make life simpler and better.I would not recommend this to anyone, even someone I didn't like.
