I spent a couple days trying to find a set of checkers that wasn't trash. I needed something durable because I work with children. The run of the mill cardboard box set of checkers on Amazon did not seem promising and a wood checkers set just wasn't going to cut it (most pieces don't have the grooves that make them stackable). And then I remembered back to my childhood, when I had a set of giant checkers just like this one. So I searched for giant checkers and settled on this set. It seems to be of good quality and was worth the price. The rug seems durable and the pieces are large and stack great. This game can be enjoyed by even small children. My only wish is that it game with a way to store the game. I have the checkers stored in a gallon size zip bag and I have the mat folded to fit inside another gallon size zip bag. I might end up buying a small plastic tote (the ones that are like shoebox size) to put the game in.

Its a great for young players, the checkers don't slide easily. It's also nice that you can pay more than one game.

I can see why there are so many complaints about missing items. The shrink wrap packaging they use is cheap and brittle, leading to inevitable openings in the plastic where parts can fall out. I think if you're not in a rush and can deal with returns and replacements, this is fine on the consumer's end, but they really should replace their packaging. A cheap thin cardboard box with two small strips of tape would work great. As far as the quality, it's not great, but it's not bad either. The game pieces are cheap plastic, but initial impression of the mat is that it is decent. That being said, the current price does seem a little bit high; I'd prefer around ten or less, but it's really not too bad. However, at the current price, it really should have better packaging and/or a cheap carry bag in my opinion. On that note, pairing this with a small and cheap canvas bag will make this a great travel option for those who enjoy a simple game of checkers. I'm going to consider getting or making some chess pieces of a similar size to toss in with this mat so it can double as a chess board.

This is the perfect size for my round table on our porch. The quality is great. Fun for kids as well as adults.

Added this to our game night routine! Checkers on one side and several versions of tic tac toe on the other. My twin 7 year old's love it! I am very happy with the quality! Many games from my childhood have become cheap and disappointing, but I was pleasantly surprised with this one!

I originally had purchased a similar table-top checkers game years ago and a few of the pieces broke so I was looking for replacements when I found this game. This one is better in that the fabric board is two-sided with a different game possibility on each side. Plus, it's very portable and can be used indoors or outdoors. The quality is good. Easily shaken to remove any dust since it stays out year-around. And the game pieces seem like they'll hold up for many years to come. It's nice too that the game pieces are large enough it provides peace of mind when small children are present (too big of pieces to put in their mouths and choke on). Also, the game fabric base can be used to play checkers on if you have your own checker pieces.
