Heavy duty foam cutter, I approve.
I recently had some EPS foam insulation to install. I tried to use more affordable, 15-20$ range products, but they were far too weak to cut through foam. This product his clearly heavy duty and higher quality. I cut through 2in thick foam like butter. Everything came in the box and worked. There is a minor bit of unscrewing+rescrewing, but the blades are even replacable. This foam cutter is expensive, but compared to the nasty mess that comes from sawing EPS foam boards, how unclean the cuts are, I prefer this. Keep in mind, burning foam gives off dangerous fumes, make sure you have ventilation in the area you're cutting. Also make sure you don't have any drops of melted foam fall onto you if you're cutting above yourself. I wanted others to know, since there wasn't a lot of videos/information about how to properly cut EPS foam board, or tools you could use. This is what you need, or something similar and heavy duty, if you want to cut those thick insulation boards!

WHere is the duty case
in the pictures it shows a duty plastic case to store this in when not in use but what you is everything packed in foam nicely in a cardboard box and no duty case at all so be aware that there is not one and checked to see if could order as accessory there is none in the the Minova store either. Be nice if that was addressed. and corrected.

Great product
I am putting in styrofoam insulation in between wall studs in a room I am remodeling. This hot knife was one of the better looking models on line so tried it. It works wonderfully, so much better than a utility knife. Quick easy cuts, if you use level3, high temp make sure to be working in a well ventilated area. I used it on level two the whole time and it didn’t burn at all or produce any smoke, you just have to take your time. Would defenitly recommend. Comes with a scraper to clean the blade. Recommend small wire brush if you really want to clean up after you finish working with it. Good price and quite a few accessories available.

Burns. Respirator required
Maybe we'll get better with it but the foam makes a god awful noxious burning smell that made me immediately vomit. Outside is not enough. Respiratory absolutely required and I never wear one. It really burns and doesn't make a nice cut like I was hoping

Worth it!
Well worth it. Easily Used it for cutting 2 inch foil faced and backed foam insulation boards. Next to no mess.

Great Tool
I watched a ton of videos where people claimed wood saws and knives were the best thing to cut insulating foam. That's because they haven't tried THIS foam cutter! So fast, so easy, such clean cuts. Use a straight piece of wood as a fence and you get almost perfect cuts. Beware of the fumes. Wear a respirator and cut outdoors.

I was on the fence thinking this was pricey. Halfway through a renovation in our basement, I went with 4” EPS rigid foam boards for insulation. I tried cutting with an Olfa knife, it was extremely difficult, EPS does not snap off like XPS board, you end up with a less than an accurate break and end up with polystyrene everywhere. Bottom line, if you’re wrestling with thicker boards, this hot knife is the answer, it came with 3 different lengths of blades. It literally cuts through these boards like butter, my only critique would be the smoke it gives off with cuts are very apparent, make sure your in a well ventilated area and the longer blades have a tendency to bow slightly after many heat cycles. The price is up there but the speed of the cutting capability is the key in my opinion, you’d be there all day with a standard knife with EPS.
