Great Product, Poor Packaging and Logistics
I love this product and have purchased it in a variety of ways for around 15 years. However, there is a serious packaging and logistics problem. For a while, I bought Sunbutter through Amazon exclusively to save money, both in packs of six one-pound jars and packs of two five-pound tubs. Unfortunately I've noticed the one-pound jars tend to become rancid when they are within six months of the label's expiration date, even when unopened. In the stores, the expiration date tends to be about a year away, but it's often within six months when ordered through Amazon or other direct-to-consumer shipping services. It seems they want to ensure the retail stores get the fresher batches. With the five-pound tubs, the issue is less about rancidity and more about packaging. Years ago, the tubs burst open in the boxes a couple times for me. Last time I bought them, they were fine. I had hoped the company had fixed this problem. Today, I received my five-pound tubs, and they had burst open, just as they have in the past. I received a refund and always have in the past, so I am not giving Sunbutter a one or two-star review. It's delicious, filling, and SAFE for those with many types of allergies. There just need to be changes in the packaging and quality assurance departments.Oh, Sunbutter, you have a serious problem. I do hope you will change this situation and continue making one of the best ever peanut-free spreads on the market.

The Best
This brand is seriously the best nut-free alternative. We starting using it for a family member with serious nut allergies and now it's all I buy because I prefer it to peanut butter. The smooth versions work great in most baking too, even buckeyes!

Great substitute for peanut butter
I've bought this product before, love the flavor and it's much smoother than many of the peanut butters being marketed as smooth. My main use is as a snack with apples or celery but sometimes I just like to mix it with some honey and stir until it makes a soft type fudge, the addition of rolled oats or dried fruit would make energy balls for lunches or snacks.

Great option for peanut-free school lunches.
Our son is a cold lunch PBJ guy, but like many schools these days anything peanut derived is a no-no. We bought two of the big buckets, and they've proven to be a good value and our son has no complaints. My wife also uses this as a main component of her homemade Clif Bars, and it works really well for that. Refrigeration is not required, but we keep ours in the fridge anyway and it's still spreadable.

Love the convenience of measured out sunbutter.
Easy to pack for kids lunches with their cut up apples.

This batch basically inedible, although I've had good experiences with this brand in the past.
We have never had this problem before with this brand . But I had to spend $40 or more on a six pack so here goes . This must have sat around too long in the warehouse even though the expiration date is in February 2023. All three jars we opened smell a bit rancid and have super hard chunks stuck to the bottom and sides that can't be stirred into the oil. Inedible.

Pricey but safe for schools
I am really sad that it’s this pricey, but I do appreciate that it’s safe to take to school without threatening anybody’s life allergies. My kid enjoys the no sugar version of this Sunbutter daily.

Tastes great!
I love this SunButter. I discovered that it works great with my diabetes, and doesn't cause a spike. Plus, it tastes great!
