After being let down by milady standard updo I was hesatant about using this text book in my class room. So before I had the school I teach at order these for the students I decided to get myself a copy. I was so pleased to see that Milady has once again become the standard. The instructions are clear easy to follow and understand for the beginner level student and will also benefit the seasoned stylist or educator wanting to brush up on their hair cutting game. I am in the process of integrating these in with my current hair cutting classes as well as using this text to offer continued education corses at my school as well. Tremendous work milady.

A book will never substitute practical training but this one will give you a basic understanding of some cuts. It goes over the techniques necessary for a proper client consultation, draping and understanding of hair distribution. This book does not have any advanced cuts or techniques, it's a good starting point for beginners and professional looking to review basics. It has instructions and illustrations for 15 haircuts. The only problem is that some of the diagrams could be confusing because they don't relate to the written instructions so it's a bit of a guess what the symbols mean sometimes.It has haircuts for women and some classic cuts for men.
