Well written good movie I enjoyed it.

Been a big fan of monsters stomping on Asian cities since I was a kid. Godzilla we sure could have used him back in W W 2. Well anyway, Give it 4 stars.

The movie was something that looked entertaining. I wouldn’t go out and rent it again, but for something different it was enjoyable.

This movie is dark. This is amplified by the preview indicating a light, quirky, odd Sci Fi, fantasy atmosphere.The acting is good from the leads and supports.Sudeikis was also a surprise as he's downright scary with a "mild mannered threat and intensity" reminiscent of Hugo Weaving in The Matrix and V for Vendetta (with Sudeikis' similar looks and the way Weaving's characters treated both Reaves' and Portman's characters). F'ing creepy!Perhaps the producers wanted both the script and the inaccurate preview to work together for the misdirection.The actual cause of the mystism isn't really addressed although the "why of it" is touched on. Usually I find this "use your own imagination" type movie making to be lazy on the screenwriter's part. Here, I'm thankful that I didn't have to hit fast forward as the mystism quickly became not central to the movie. So, it's nice that the film doesn't get sidetracked exploring that and stays with the one main storyline.The ending is also conclusive while still leaving the gritty details up to your imagination and the loose ends are mostly tied up. I want to say the whole thing is a more odd than satisfying package. However, so many movies these days just hang up a "the end" sign and roll credits when the screenwriter hit the deadline and the producer didn't hold them accountable for crafting an actual ending. I feel it's worth mentioning that the ending does actually close the movie and doesn't leave the viewer asking themselves much of "what about such and such?!"The way this movie gets dark and creepy-weird so quickly, I was just glad to get to the end fairly quickly, without having to fast forward, and with loose ends mostly closed.I gave 3 stars because the movie was OK with the odd script but solid acting and an interesting premise. However, I don't like being lied to or misled and that's exactly what the preview did. Again, that may have been intentional to amplify the script instead of just bad rude marketing.It went by fairly quickly but didn't hold my interest to the point that I ended up watching over 2 nights with the intermission basically at the point where it got dark. Dark wasn't the kind of movie I was in the mood for.SPOILER ALERT!The film also depicts alcohol abuse and physical violence against a woman. There isn't any gore, though. It's a movie, make believe, but some people might be offended by that or offended by the fact that the preview didn't indicate such.

As stated,great performance from cast. Left with confusion,yes. This is a movie open for group discussion. It is good.

I get why people wouldn't either understand this movie or even dislike it. It's one of those films that wasn't studio mandated down to be the most 'accessible' movie possible. I would say it was written and made with women in mind. A lot of women can understand what it's like to be in abusive relationships with people trying to control, manipulate or change you. It's practically a universal experience all women either go through or has been close to someone it's happening to, to understand it.But about the movie itself. It's fantastic. It's very well written and with a fantastically flawed lead who also tries to do the right thing, she's trying to get her life together and that's not easy! If the word 'feminism' scares you, avoid this movie, but if you consider yourself a feminist, give it a try. Chances are you'll get it and it'll be like nothing you've ever seen before. If not? Meh. There are plenty more movies out there to hit the happy zone of your brain, let us have our fun too.

Love Anne Hathaway. Thought she was great in this movie - very natural. Fantasy, comedy, dark. Original. You think the people and story line are one thing, just to have a curve ball thrown at you.

I absolutely love movies. I'm a huge movie guy, and I love all sorts of movies. I've seen a lot of bad movies, but this one by far takes the top spot for me. This is honestly the worst movie I have ever seen. If I was high, it may have been ok. But I quit smoking years ago. Boy do I regret that. I should have started up again just before this movie and then quit immediately after. That would've only improved my rating by 1 star. First of all, the story line is horrible. There are numerous holes and things that don't add up in the plot. The acting was actually good. I just think the execution was horrendous. I feel like a third grader wrote this movie when they were sent to their room for time out without any electronics and had no other choice. Then some deranged lunatic read it and thought "huh, I'd really love to make the worst movie possible. This is it!"in all seriousness it wasn't good, but that's my take. I could just as easily have turned it off and not watched the rest and skipped writing this review, but where's the fun in that?

So so film. Neither good nor bad. Original and good idea, but somehow poorly executed. Good performance by A Hathaway.

This film was fantastic!The way they use the monster to represent how alcoholism has a tragic effect on life was incredible. I went into this not knowing what to expect and I was pleased when I got a monster movie that was more focused on humans AND the humans were actually interesting. I found the humans actually more interesting than the monster portion of things.People may not like it because it's a monster movie with something to actually say, instead of just explosions and fighting.But that stomping scene in the playground... GOLD

Una donna single appena mollata dal suo ragazzo e cacciata di casa scopre di poter controllare un enorme mostro stile Godzilla con il quale può distruggere qualsiasi cosa e uccidere chiunque.Trama molto originale e realizzazione tecnica impeccabile, un modo unico per rappresentare le difficoltà della protagonista nel crescere e prendersi le responsabilità che un adulto dovrebbe prendersi.Film non eccezionale, sicuramente non un capolavoro ma comunque gradevole, con un buon ritmo, ottime interpretazioni ed un idea di base originale.
