Do these porcelain dishes have a rough ring on the bottom like stoneware or are they fully glazed?

They're fully glazed. The bottoms are white, though, and there's a ring that's not super slick. Well, that's my take, but on the page where I bought by hot assorted colors set, it says: "SMOOTH & SCRATCH-RESISTANT – The glazed sections of dinnerware sets are waxy smooth and show very little to no blemishes. Moreover, the unglazed base have sanding which will not cause the plates to scratch each other when stacked. For those who are more tactile，you will completely in love with this set." Boo on them for a typo, and obviously I'm not a ceramics expert. I do love these dishes, though! Far better quality than stoneware, and heavy and chip-resistant. I'll add a photo later if I can figure out how to upload it.

This dinnerware looks lovely but is it really ovenproof and stronger than stoneware? Reviews are mixed.

I've not had one single issue with it, but then I haven't dropped a piece to see. I have not used it in the oven, so can't verify that, but I would not hesitate to do so, just haven't had the need. It is microwavable & cleans up really easy, just don't take a hot dish & put it under cold water, and yes, it is beautiful. I love it!!
