Mechanistically, the device is very solid and even though it’s plastic, the latching mechanism feels sturdy and didn’t move at all during a several hour road trip. The “click” is satisfyingly loud so that it feels like all the components are solid enough to last a long time. I thought with Apple CarPlay I wouldn’t ever need an accessory to hold the phone, but I found it very nice to have 2 screens available, especially during navigation.I tried it in 2 cars, worked great in both. It does the job, seems well built, and is way cheaper than I would have paid if I bought it in a brick and mortar store. Definitely recommended!

Its nice design. Two pieces and it was pretty intuitive what someone needs to do to fix it in the car. Got it fixed in 3 minutes in the airvent. Yes - it doesnt obstruct flow of air and its also very stylish and not weird. I was concerned that the iphone will start shaking when driving a 2013 toyota prius [which kind of rattles], for driving directions But it was pretty good to just glance it and read the map. Of course, you dont want to be reading text messages and what not when driving:) . But if the car is parked, of course you can always do it easily with this design. Nice buy and value for money.

Was looking for an elevated phone mount for my Honda Civic since suction ones don't work on the textured dash, I didn't want window mount, and a standard vent mount is visually blocked by steering wheel placement. This was the perfect solution, and I also enjoy that it doesn't obstruct the majority of the vent, which is good to prevent over-heating or over-cooling for my phone as well. It's been used on two 14 hour roadtrips so far and has only experienced minor slippage from the initial installation. I also love that it's capable of holding boxier cases with pop sockets or card compartments securely.

It does mount to the car vent ok, but since the stem is so long it wiggles around too much.

As noted by the other reviews, the build quality is good. The price is competitive or better than other holders I looked at on Amazon. Using my last holder, the arm that grips one side of the phone broke. It was spring loaded and lower quality plastic. This holder, the arms are tightened via a ratchet mechanism. Because of the method this holder uses to attach to the vent "blade", a hook, this holder is quite sturdy for my Samsung Note 9. No regrets on the purchase.Should it break, I'll update the review.Some users may find the placement of the holder restricts movement of the vent blade. It does somewhat in my 2017 Chevy traverse and fully in my wife's 2019 Honda CR-V. This isn't a problem for us. My last holder was more restrictive, but also fell off the vent blade frequently.I'm buying a 2'nd one.
