The Crucified Life: How To Live Out A Deeper Christian Experience

If you truly want to love the true and living, most high God, Who graciously revealed Himself to us sinners through His Son Jesus Christ, with all your heart, mind and soul, then this book is for you. If you are really willing to change and give up everything, to lay down your life to gain Christ, you will find help. Otherwise, don't bother. You need to be strong, humble enough to be corrected and courageous enough to trust God to make you more like His Son Jesus, then words of life is found in this book. I strongly recommend it. Tozer has a keen knowledge of God and shares that in this book. I am blessed to have read it and want a real coy to return again and again.

Wow! What a great read. A lot for a person to grasp and apply. The blessings are great. Stand firm Christian! God has you. Praise the Lord. A. W. Tozier would shudder at what has become of the church. We need to grasp the the words written by him aligned with God’s word. Then apply it to our lives.

A lot of truth and very well explained. This book should be read slowly and meditate on each topic. It makes you think about how we live our daily lives in a way that glorifies Christ.

This is indeed not like other religions. We are willing to sacrifice the stuff on earth to glorify our lord. There is a lot of teachings to sharpen our focus.

The master! If you love Tozer (and I do, absolutely!) you will NOT be disappointed! Many of us may have heard of the crucified life, but Tozer takes you there! He fully explains, and is as accessible, to those who can't get enough of the Lord, and those trying to figure out all out! He provides examples of what he's teaching, and you don't need to be a theologian or scholar to understand! I adore this man, and only wish I'd been here while he was! Enjoy, feast; you'll be privy to the simplicity of his teachings!

If you TRULY want to perfect your walk with Christ as a TRUE Christian, this is the book for you to read. I should warn you though, if you can't "handle the truth" then don't even read it. You have to be ready to crucify your life as unto the Lord and be ready to change! You will find out that there is more to the Christian life than just getting saved to miss hell when you die. He urges the church to get away from “entertainment” and return to the roots of the message of “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Col. 1:27). He even has a section in chapter two that covers the topic, "What Is A Christian?" This is VITAL, because that definition for a “Christian” has become SOOOO loose over the years!! EVERYBODY is a "Christian" now just because they use the name of "Jesus." I LOVE the term he uses to describe this kind of thought process. He calls it, "easy believism." This is the idea that if you believed in Jesus everything else would be all right and you don't have to change anything, for God loves you just the way you were. THINK AGAIN! God loves you, but He expects YOU to change- your walk, your talk, and your mind (Romans 12:1-2). After you read this book, you will no longer take God and what Christ died to give you and redeem you from for granted anymore. It's a "in yo face" (spiritually) kind of book (:)! Buckle up because you may just be on your way to the “spiritual woodshed.” You will either love it or hate it! It's one of those books that you can't put down. It's easy to read and you can hear the author’s passion about this subject in the book. It's quite interesting that the author was sharing different examples of NOT living a crucified life back in the 1940's, but those SAME situations are happening today! Ecclesiastes is right! "There is NOTHING new under the sun." It’s easy to go along with the crowd, but once you commit to living the crucified life you will be changed forever, but you will also open yourself up to opposition and misunderstanding, BUT, no worries, God has your back! OK. I’LL STOP PREACHING! JUST READ THE BOOK! LOL! 

... if one reads it as the author intended. It’s meant to get under the skin and into the marrow of you and show things that need to change. It is meant to show something of God in his holiness and purity and the place where he dwells and the very painful cross that brings us there. One will need an open bible and the help of the Holy Spirit to benifit from this book and, probably, a whole lifetime of work.

This book is by a well known Christian author, who died in 1963. It is a book addressed to those who already have a close personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Tozer is remarkably direct and outspoken about what is right and what is not right with the Church (not a denomination or institution, but the body of Christ, made up of all those who have a living relationship with Jesus as their personal Lord or Master, and Saviour) and about what we need to do about it.It calls the reader to a deeper discipleship to the one we call 'Lord'.I found the book deeply inspiring and challenging, and as relevant to today's contemporary Church, and to the life of discipleship today, as it was when he wrote it. If you aren't prepared to be deeply challenged about your personal walk with Christ, or if you're easily offended, don't read this book! If you yearn to follow more and more closely the One who said, "I am the way, truth and the life" - then this book is not to be missed.

God and you, you and God ... no in-between’s, no what if’s, just getting to the point that we live before God, and He through His Spirit lives in and all around us ... Wants all of us and will only take what we allow Him - we can have all of God!

This book came at the right time in my life as I sought to go deeper into God. The book is well written with beautiful flourishes and insight that I found invaluable. I will be reading more of his books

A W Tozer was one of the very first Christian authors that I read. He calls a spade a spade - his longing is that every born again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ should live their Christian life at the highest level. I have quite a number of Tozer's books but I had never seen this one before - what a find! He speaks from a heart totally in love with the Lord - and it is to like minded Christians that he speaks to in this volume. If you are longing for a closer walk with God - then this book is for you - but as Tozer goes at length to point out - the way to that closer relationship with God means crucifying the flesh.
