Absolutely incredible
I am very impressed with the FB1. How a standalone soundbar with no sub or separate speakers can achieve such an astonishing surround sound experience is nothing less than phenomenal! The kids were watching Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon and I could hear him collecting rings behind me whilst the soundbar was in front of me! Watched the world cup final on the stadium setting, and paired with my Philips Ambilight TV gave me a highly immersive experience. It also looks great! You can tell by the weight of the thing whilst unboxing it that this is a real high quality piece of kit! Incredible soundbar, would highly recommend

Fantastic experience
As the wall mounts are included in the box it was easy to fit to the wall and the first-time setup/calibration is not a complex process. So far, we have used it as our entertainment speaker to stream from Spotify and tidal along with watching a good genre mix of movies over the Christmas/New year (Action, Horror, Family, Drama) and the big standout for me is the voice clarity whilst maintaining a rich (but not overwhelming) bass experience with just the standard EQ setupin summary, premium build quality, superb sound clarity, rich bass with easy self-setup and installation

This packs a punch
Wow this is loud. Not gone over 12 on the volume level yet. Once calibrated the sound is immense with an almost 3D immersive quality. I had a full multi-speaker surround system before and I don't miss it. Sure you can never recreate sounds from behind you with just front speakers, but this bar does an amazing job of enveloping you in sound. Bass is great. If you need an external subwoofer with this you must hate your neighbours, but you can add one if you want. You can also add rear speakers but, as I said, I don't feel the need for them. Only complaint is the sound has a very bright quality which doesn't work well with music but it's ok for films (I turned the treble down a notch) and I can't tweak the EQ to get it sounding completely right. Overall really happy with it though.

Philips Fidelio Fb1 soundbar.
The performance of this soundbar is 100% sublime. I researched all the sound bars on YouTube and viewed Samsung Q 990c and Sony HT a7000 within department stores, but it was the Phillips Fidelio FB1 that caught my eye on Amazon for the excellent price of £627. It fits perfectly under my 55-in TV and looks absolutely premium. The sound and design are first class would highly recommend 5 stars all the way.

Not good for a Top of the Line product
This is a long review but I advise reading it all:This is a beast of a Soundbar. It weighs in at a hefty 7kg though as it's got 2 Subs built in, it's actually not that bad. It's an upgrade from a Sharp so although its the same length (120cm). It's much wider at 12cm.Speaker wise, this little bad boy has:2 Full range + 1 Tweeter (Left & Right Channel)2 Full range + 1 Tweeter (Centre Channel)1 Full Range (Left Side & Right Side Channel)1 Full Range (Left up-firing & Right up-firing Channel)2 x WoofersFor a grand total of 15 speakers sat in the unit!Yep, it's actually a 5.2.2 speaker configuration with some fancy processing to simulate the 7.1.2 sound. (5 main speakers, 2 Subs, 2 up-firing surround)Build quality is superb though it's not Vegan compatible due to a subtle leather trim! The unit is Plugged into a Philips "The One" Ambi-light TV.It also sports 2 x Ambi-light rings on the top though they wouldn't sync with the TV!Initial hook up was fairly simple Requiring just a HDMI cable running from the TV to the unit (E-Arc though does support the older Arc).Quick test and the sound was crisp, clear & considering there's no Separate Sub connected, a very nice, deep bass. And It's Loud. I mean seriously Loud! Volume control goes up to 60 - And I only tried up to 23 which had everything shaking (no distortion and sound was still crystal clear) so God knows If i'll ever test it at Max!And then things went downhill fast! (Note: All the following is Android based & you DO need to read the manual which is another PDF download!)As it's Play-Fi, you have to download the app to your phone which was easy enough. Trying to get it to sync up with the App? It took 3 attempts & No idea why! Everything was setup properly & nothing was changed during the first 2 attempts. When it finally decided to connect - and going through the the first few screens - it immediately did a Firmware update - 2 of them to be precise! And that took nearly 15 minutes! You then have to download a Second Philips App to your phone If you want to be able to fine tune the audio without having to mess around doing things via the remote! This initially worked & gave me access to surround modes, volume levels & independent channel level control of the unit. The Soundbar Display now showed "PLAY FI" on its LED screen. So turning the TV back on, there was now No sound output! Switching between each source on the Soundbar made no difference!Tried multiple apps on the TV & current audio output settings and still nothing! So Back to the Manual! It then says you have to run the Play-Fi app on the TV!More messing about required & and no speaker configuration on the App seemed to work - until I had just one unit selected which seemed to be the only one which allowed me to carry on with the setup. And yet More waiting until finally the TV App had finished doing its thing! And still NO sound!!Switched everything off from the mains, waited 10 minutes, switched it all back on. No sound!!Back to the phone app & that was now not showing any connected devices! Tried the 2nd app on the phone & that also came back with "No compatible devices found".Back to the TV and sound settings. Switched back to TV speakers and sound (Yay - though only through the TV speakers!). However, it then wouldn't switch back to either HDMI or Play-Fi Theatre (new setting which had appeared!), throwing up an error message saying "Unable to switch to External audio - TV Speakers in Use"!! Yeah, made zero sense!!TV off and On. Still wouldn't let me switch the audio back to HDMI or PLAY-FI.Back to the soundbar manual and after finding out how to do a Hard reset on the unit, performed this function & the Soundbar rebooted back to default (No PLAY-FI showing, just the default input).Turned the TV back on & still no joy! So it was Back to the TV App, deleted all the Play-Fi settings, & rebooted the TV.Turned the TV back on, pulled up the audio settings (Play-Fi had now gone), selected HDMI on the audio & the Soundbar was working again through the TV!!So I gave it a 2nd attempt at getting all 3 Apps setup? Err, yep - see above!!Another, Hard reset on the Soundbar & this time, deleted the data from the 3 Apps. Then Deleted all the Apps. And finally re-installed them.Fired up the Play-Fi app on the phone, going through each step again. The Play-Fi App is now showing 2 Soundbars installed! It then threw up a new error with one being "greyed" out & the second one saying "Device not compatible"! No-where in the app is the option to remove the devices.Started the Philips App and that would search and then display "No compatible devices on current Network".So I went back, did ANOTHER Hard reset on the Soundbar, deleted all the data off the phone apps & deleted both Apps.So It's connected to the TV via HDMI and that's it.It refuses to play Atmos sound through Disney+ or other online Streaming content I have installed only displaying "Dolby Surround".I decided to re-connect my old Soundbar just to be sure & that went straight into Atmos Mode (Same content tried on the Streaming Apps).I then tried a separate Dolby Atmos track (via VLC) which worked & then Switching back to the Fidelio unit.It recognised that and played that back just fine displaying DOLBY ATMOS on the Soundbar! Streaming Apps? Nope - it went back to Dolby Surround!Comparing the two with the Atmos track, The Philips was definitely a cleaner and more crisp sound though there didn't seem to be much of a difference with the Surround capabilities which was a surprise. If anything, My old Soundbar gave a better Spatial effect though this might be down to setup woes on the Philips! So my thoughts 1 day on from owning the unit? Not at all impressed & never had so much trouble trying to get a "Smart" device setup! Which it obviously still isn't!I will update this when (& if) I can figure out how to get it all setup properly.**UPDATE**So After spending nearly 2 days trying to get it to work properly and all sync'd up, the final straw was The Wi-Fi reset button on the back decided to stop working & wouldn't reset the connection! Even performing a Hard reset, the Wi-Fi link on the Soundbar stayed connected when it shouldn't have!I then realised it was radiating some serious heat from where the inputs are located! I'm not talking Luke warm, We're talking Hot to the point of "You're going to get a burn if you touch it"!!Unplugged it from the mains, Called Amazon and it's been returned for a full refund!!I should also note that it didn't arrive with the usual Amazon packing - They'd slapped a Label on the Original packaging and sent it like that so on Full view to everyone to see.. NOT IMPRESSED!!Final thoughts? The initial sound was amazing (5/5) but everything after that was a Nightmare! It wouldn't decode the Audio into Atmos from Streaming Apps, I never got to try the Wireless capabilities of the unit and the Setup is the worst, most infuriating thing I've ever experienced! You don't get an On-screen setup menu option through the TV - even though it's connected to the TV via HDMI.There's no Ethernet connection so you're reliant solely on Wi-Fi.Not what you'd expect considering the price and name. And they DON'T even supply a HDMI cable with the purchase! There's just way too many Apps required & if things go awry during or after the Setup? You'll be left wondering if it's an App fault or a Device fault. It's an overly complicated setup for what it does, especially when compared to other products.I definitely wouldn't recommend this Soundbar to anyone after what I experienced.Buy at your own peril.....

So great bar apps let's down.
The soundbar I agree is top rated. But setup on the apps is a pain I did not get mine from Amazon a friend did had delivery issues.Phillips has to get a better way of connecting though apps. If you don't use bar in while it resets on apps. Then you go through all them stages again 😒 I feel ypu Pain the reviewer had all that trouble.
