Buy this for your 5year old
there are many reviews on YT about this lens and how it performs at 800mm. but I really got this lens to test and see how it performs at a minimum 420mm to 600mm range. considering the sigma is at a max of 600mm. Of course, you cannot compare it to a sigma which is 8 times the cost of this one.At 420 mm itself with decent light the performance is poor. at 500mm and 600mm it gets worse as the aperture no. goes up. Forget 800mm.There is so much chromatic aberration that even after a deep fix in Lightroom one can still notice some when zoomed into the pic.I used a Canon 600D for reference you can see the pics that come out from this camera at my Instagram handle @byron.dsouza being a 10-year-old model to get an idea when shot with my Canon kit lens.I am posting some of the good pics and bad pics here to give you an idea. now the ones that you like are the ones at 420mm where the subject is soo close somewhere near 30mtrs to 50mtrs away. Thats why they look good but that close we can take pics with our kit lens too right?Notice the pics look good just as is. The moment you zoom into the pic you will see the details fading away. While this is a manual lens, while zooming and trying to focus on the subject I noticed that the Focus range is so tiny that it's difficult to get everything in focus considering the LCD is darker too. I shot with a tripod with a slower shutter speed (the grey street lamp) and handheld at a fast shutter speed (green gig bird) both at the 50mtrs range. If the subject is very far, focusing becomes even more challenging and even if you get it right, after processing you will see the actual image lacs focus. It's not a Crisp lens at all. rendering all the pics I took useless.I would actually use this lens just at a telescope and not to take shots. That's why I say, give it to the kids to play somewhat like learning the hard way..lol.Now having said that, some of the photos are really good at close distance and lots of light. Light is your friend with this lens. But like I said my kit lens can do that too with better clarity.I have a 250mm kit lens with a crop sensor 600d that after processing and zooming in gives better quality pics than this lens when pics taken at 420mm are processed without zooming in.If you look into the viewfinder and manually find your perfect spot for the focus, the end result after processing the pic will be blurry than the focus it showed you in the viewfinder.I used it for astrophotography too and it did not do well..there is just not enough focus. You can only see the moon. Jupiter to Saturn, all are not in focus. You can't get the moon too in crisp focus.I used this lens with a polarid filter too, but it made it worse. Adding another glass to it cuts more light that comes in.Distance of pics takenThe green asian beeeater 20 mtrs awayCoconut husk 20 mtrs away with ample sunlight(this was my favourite)Wings of Heron 40 mtrs ( against ample sunlight) good but when zoomed it looses it details.Eagel in action 50 mtrsBubbul 20 mtrs awayGreat green leaf bird 20 mrtsmtrs awayLive wire 30 mtrs away (difficult to focus)Street lamp and next one the internet box 30 mtrs away. (Good pic)White Plumeria pudica flowers 10 mtrs awayGreen long leaves in sunlight 60 mtrs awayWhite Brahminy Kite distance almost 90 mtrs away(zoomed 600mm) handheld ample lightI appreciate the maker of this lens putting in the effort to present this to all of us as there in nothing in this price range. If you ask me its a cheap lens but i'd rather save these bucks too and add more to buy a used sigma for around 40kIf you already have a camera body and broke you kit lens, then one can consider getting this to shoot subjects close to 50 mtrs away with 420mm at aperture 8.3. as a kit lens would cost much more.I have returned this lens. I hope this review helps..

So far so good
The trick is you need to have good sturdy tripod and your skills in manual focusing. Even small wind is making the camera, shakes violently. So I used Helicon Remote app for android that connects with my Canon 550D(T2 Rebal) camera to take non shaky pictures.Attached pictures are some I have taken with my camera(slightly adjusted brightness and contrast levels with editing app) in Hyderabad, India. Tracking and focusing moon has taken 30 mins of my time and due to earth rotation with in a minute the moon is going out of frame. May be I need EQ mount Tripod to take other celestial bodies(never tried, but will do).Overall performance of the lens is good and happy with the purchase. I used it along with Vivitar 2x converter which also I brought it from Amazon.
