High quality board.
My board arrived today and is a nicely assembled little kit. I bought this to convert a 6090 mill with a Mach 3 board to GRBL. Mach 3 is an overpriced dumpster fire. GRBL is open source and very simple to use and free.My spindle requires a 0 to 10 volt "Control Voltage" for spindle speed. You will need this PWM to Control Voltage converter if you want this to control these better spindles:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BFLC7YMB?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsI will be bypassing the stepper drive chips and using high powered stepper drivers. Thanks Annoy Tools for his great Value.Update April 2024.Never installed this board. I persevered with using the Dumpster Fire that is Mach3. The biggest disappointment is the lack of real documentation. This Amazon review section is the best source of details. This board may work well for you if you read these reviews and understand the limitations. Know that the standard code for locking the axis after a move does not work. The seller did provide a working code that is in one of the reviews. Grbl and FluidNC software do not provide Backlash compensation which is needed for any heavy iron machines but not small tight hobby machines carving wood.Source Rabbit offers a 4 Axis control version of Grbl that has backlash compensation if you can get it to load on this.Have FUN!

Works great
I am new to the laser hobby. This control board was very easy to set up using Lightburn. I am using all 4 axis. Love it. Only issue I found, I would like to have been able to add control of air assist. No extra outputs for this. But defiantly not a show stopper. I will continue to use this controller and recommend it. Great price too.

Well...It sort of works
I hooked it up to my 3018 Pro M. First thing I did was to set the Vref for the stepper motor drivers which only took a few minutes. Then I put all my gbrl settings into it and tested everything. With a few tweaks I had everything squared away. It did seem smoother when it ran the spindle. However when I tried hooking up my laser I noticed the pinout was not the standard pinout so I had to change the pins on my laser cable to match what was on the board for +12V, GND, PWM. I matched them and tried running my laser. When I tried to focus laser the laser would not turn on. Everything had power but no matter what I did the laser would not turn on. Also, I could not use my limit switches on the board as they had JST 2 pin plugs and this just had pin header. It's not clear where to put the E-Stop switch as there's nothing labelled for it. Since I cannot use the laser on the board I decided to just keep this for parts. I mean...what else can I do?

$1=255 Code does not work. Can't prevent the motors from disabling after a move.
Every time your steppers complete a motion and come to a stop, Grbl will delay disabling the steppers by this value. OR, you can always keep your axes enabled (powered so as to hold position) by setting this value to the maximum 255 milliseconds. Again, just to repeat, you can keep all axes always enabled by setting $1=255.This does not work on this board and the motors will not hold their position if there is an external torque on them. I tried setting $1=255 on other 1.1F (different time stamp) grbl controller boards and it works. I connected a logic analyzer to the enable and step to measure the delay. At $1=254, you get about 254 ms of delay (actual 256.892ms accounting for 2.7ms latency). At $1=255, you get about 0 ms delay,(actual 2.76ms latency) not infinite delay (disabled). The stepper motor could loose steps between moves. This is a firmware bug and a simple update will fix the problem, but I don't know if this board can be updated. It seems that this board does not have a bootloader installed and would need to be directly flashed. Someone please post if they know how to update the firmware on this board. If you are using an external motor driver, you could tie the enable pin high or low depending on your driver to keep it enabled all of the time.See pictures of timing.

Really nice quality, comes in a nice case!
It's hard to tell from the photos, but this comes mounted in a really nice case. I was surprised by that, as well as how well it was packaged. It came in ESD-proof bubble wrap and inside THAT was an ESD-proof mylar bag. Needless to say, no stray electrons were breeching the shipping protection.I picked this up as part of an ongoing "build your own CNC / laser engraver" project, which I already have stepper motors, guide rods, and a lot of the individual pieces and parts. It looks like it will be perfect for my needs, and can hardly wait to finish the project.

Excellent Control Board.
I purchased this control board for my Homebuilt RotaryCNC.I originally had issues with the board but the vendor, ANNOY TOOLS, sent a replacement without hesitation. This 4axis Control Board was easy to wire, easy to install, and easy to connect to the software.*I highly recommend this Control Board and also recommend the vendor, ANNOY TOOLS.I will purchase from ANNOY TOOLS again.

Works As Advertised
Use this with external drivers. The 4th axis works perfectly. Used with UGS and Lightburn.
