The media could not be loaded.  The “Fresh & Save 8-Piece Vacuum Starter Set” from “Zwilling” is a good quality food storage set which enables you to suck the air out of the containers, thereby preserving the foodstuffs within for around five times longer than it would otherwise have lasted.I didn’t know I needed this pack, until I ordered this set and began vacuum sealing my leftovers etc. The days of tossing food to the back of the fridge, only to let it crawl out by itself after a few months, are no more for me.If I’m honest, I thought this set would probably be too much hassle, and something I’d use a few times at the beginning then forget about and not bother again. How wrong I was!In this starter set you get two plastic tubs with lids (one large, and one sandwich box sized) multiple bags of various sizing, bag pegs and a strange little ‘vacuum pump device’ which you put over the blue or red circles on the aforementioned containers/bags, and subsequently suck the air out of them until their vacuum packed. The vacuum pump air sucker thing is also fully rechargeable, via a small USB-C (no plug provided) – so super handy for quick recharging.The vacuum pump takes around 10-15 seconds to suck the air out of your containers / packs. This is super quick and incredibly easy. We’ve used this for preserving leftovers, to keep salad leaves fresh and crunchy. My partner also sucks the air out of her lunch for work the next day – keeping everything as fresh as when it was first prepared.The main downside that we’ve noticed with the set is that it states in the instructions to avoid anything with a lot of moisture. This isn’t too bad with the tubs, however, when using the bags, anything too juicy will invariably get sucked up into the vacuum pump!Also, a few more of the blue tub plugs would have been a good addition to the set, since they are vital for using the tubs. Unfortunately, they are so small that my partner has already lost one of them!

The media could not be loaded.  Having experience with vacuuming fruit and veg as well as large meat packs into smaller meal size packs to freeze, I thought this starter set looked like good quality and that using this method vs my vacuum sealer may be quicker and easier. I like the bags in the pack that are thick and durable and a good mix of sizes (but not enough of the larger size, so I would have to get more, and they aren’t cheap).The containers come in 2 handy sizes which I washed before using to store chicken wings in the smaller one and strawberries in the larger one. The lids are tight and secure, and the containers can go in the dishwasher.The vacuum pump is very easy to use, remove the cap and attach to either the containers or bags and press the button and it automatically stops after all the air has been sucked out and then press the ‘push’ button on the bags. Quick and Easy.The instruction booklet I found to be quite helpful and does mention to fully charge the vacuum pump before using so I did that first even though it did arrive charged and ready to use. It comes with a USB charging cable and a few other bits like the zip lock aid and marinating aid – which I haven’t used and probably never will.I realised when I defrosted frozen chicken breasts yesterday that I was never going to use that bag again after having raw chicken in it and usually I discard of them when it comes to chicken.The bags can’t go in the dishwasher, and I don’t like to depend on just hot soapy water to do the job when it comes to chicken, so a wasted bag ☹ So, when it comes to the bags now, I will only use them for fruit and veg and not for any meat at all.The App is handy, and I did have a play around in it and its quite clever – would I continue using it though, probably not but it’s a nice tool to have should you need it and its quick and easy to download and use.I don't doubt the quality and it is handy to have reusable bags but, for me, not for meat. I also think it is really expensive for what you get which is where the 4 stars come in.

It's taken me a while to write this review as I wanted to make sure that I gave the product the full testing needed.This is one of those things that you don't realise you need until you get it and then you wonder why you haven't gotten it sooner.You get 2 boxes, a fair amount of bags in various sizes and of course the actual suction machine.The first thing I tested was the boxes by putting some strawberries and checking the freshness over the space of a week. And let me tell you..... Strawberries start going of the second you bring them home. I washed them, dried them and put them in the tub and checked them after 5 days. They were perfect. They hasn't started going soft and mushy. I checked 3 days later and they had begun to slightly soften. In my house these kinds of fruits are either eaten instantly or are left for a week or more and by then it's too late.I also had an abundance of lemons so I cut them into wedges and placed them in a bag, ready to be suctioned and placed into the freezer.The number one thing you need to know is that you can't use anything that is too wet or juicy as it will suction into the machine and damage it.So I suctioned until I could see the liquid going towards the point of suction. This was just enough to remove most of the air in the bag.There are so many more uses for this machine and I would say its worth exploring. This will help with food waste so much. The extra bags and tubs are pricy but you don't necessarily need loads if you use everything correctly.I'm looking forward to continued use of this machine going forward!

Au vu des nombreux commentaires négatifs récents, j’ai longuement hésité avant de commander mais au final, je suis entièrement satisfaite. Le vide se fait parfaitement pour les boîtes et les sacs. Les sacs sont réutilisables mais restes fragiles donc il faut faire attention car un trou est vite arrivé et donc le vide d’air ne se fait plus.

Ich habe vor kurzem das Startpaket Fresh& Save erhalten. Inspiriert wurde ich durch verschiedene Plattformen, welche eine längere Haltbarkeit von Produkten versprechen. Dies überzeugte mich sehr, denn immer wieder muss ich Lebensmittel leider wegschmeißen.Nach dem Test eines weiteren Gerätes (Caso), kaufte ich nun doch das etwas "teurere" Gerät von Zwilling, da mich das andere Gerät weniger überzeugte. Und ich muss sagen, dass ich bereits nach einmaliger Anwendung das andere Gerät zurückschicken und mich für dieses hier entschied.Mein erster Vorteilen ist eine klare subjektive Entschiedung, aber in der Optik sieht das Gerät einfach elegant aus, es liegt gut in der Hand und ist schön leicht. Außerdem kann man es gut verstauen, weil es recht klein ist. Den größten Vorteil sehe ich in der schnellen Vakuumierzeit. Dies dauerte bei dem anderen Gerät deutlich länger. Sollte man Gefäße bom Caso besitzen bzw auch etwas Geld sparen wollen, sind diese mit Zwilling kompatibel und verschließen diese auch dicht. Ich kann allerdings nicht sagen, ob es genauso dicht und lange haltbar macht wie die firmeneigenen Produkte.Nachteile gibt es lediglich im Preis, der aber im Vergleich durchaus berechtigt ist, und der Lautstärke während des Vakuumierens, aber das bleibt nie aus.Mein Fazit:Um Lebensmittel länger haltbar zu machen, kann ich das praktische Vakuumiergerät sehr empfehlen, es geht schnell und hält Lebensmittel laut Hersteller 5x länger frisch. Eine deutliche längere Haltbarkeit von vor allem schnell verderblichen Lebensmitteln kann ich bestätigen (z.B. sind Erdbeeren auch nach 3-4 Tagen noch ohne Probleme essbar).Das Geld würde ich jederzeit wieder ausgeben, manchmal zeigt sich die Qualität eben doch im Preis!
