Tram 1126-B 200-Watt Pretuned 410 MHz to 490 MHz Black-Nut-Type Quarter-Wave Antenna with NMO Mounting

I was looking for a small UHF antenna for a mobile radio at home to talk to my repeater instead of using an HT with a battery eliminator...the SWR exceeded my expectations using the small ground plain I had. I use my radio on low power and my repeater antenna is just 40 feet up. I may have to buy another for when I am mobile as a spare or additional antenna for my HT. I am happy.

Good solid antenna for GMRS frequency. Getting excellent sound reports. The reason I gave a 4 is because the title of the antenna is misleading. Merchant you need to correct. Otherwise I would recommend this antenna.

Have not been having very much luck with antennas delivering what they say. This one is the exception. Either I received an exception to the rule or this little antenna rocks ! Once installed I am getting 1.0 to 1.2 SWR throughout the GMRS frequency range. I am also hitting repeaters 20 plus miles away with strong signal return. Hopefully this antenna will give you the same results.BTW, I did mount it on the Tram Browning 1246B trunk mount and made the grounding correction one of the other reviewers made for this mount to remove some of the enamel from under the screws holding the NMO mount to the bracket. Not sure if that impacted my results because I did not test it before.

Installed in my truck is a Kenwood 8160HK 40w I can hit repeaters 5-30 miles away here in South Bay Los Angeles area easily. Have not had a bad radio check yet!

I bought this antenna due to the small size so I could mount on top of my lifted 4Runner and still be able to get in the garage. I was amazed by the reception of this little 1/4 wave antenna. I been using the UT-72 magnetic mount antenna that is 16” tall and this little antenna get way better reception than that one.

Works well on GMRS SWR was 1.1 to 1.25 across the GMRS frequencies. Quite happy with the purchase. Bought this because it stops me having to take it off the car every night when putting car in garage.

My wife had this antenna on a mag mount on top of an f250 attached to a midland mxt275. I forget what my meter rated the radio at, but it was a bit under 15 watts for the midland radio. I was on a hand held that puts out a little more than 4 watts when it is fully charged. 3 miles away (according to my map app) picking up a rental trailer. I expect the f250 was a bit higher elevation because the city we were at is directly on the coast. She was further in land and I was closer to the water. I was shocked how clear the signal came in!! I tested it inside the cab and outside the cab and it was great!! So I bought another one of these and the same nmo mag mount. As soon as I can get another mobile radio that puts out power like the mxt275 I will be doing quite a bit more testing.

Super small and perfect SWR. Sits on top of my Tacoma and clears the garage door! Perfect.
