Wonderful piece of US History
I was very happy to order this flag of the Whiskey Rebellion. It shipped and arrived quickly and was very inexpensive too. It's a very beautiful and unusual flag and I have a very specific purpose for it. I plan to fly it in front of my house every April 15th - Tax Day. Here's the history: In the early 1790's, the newly formed US Federal Government was broke and had no means of bringing in revenue. Alexander Hamilton came up with the idea of putting a tax on those who made whiskey. Nearly all whiskey was "home-brewed" in those days. Hamilton thought that whiskey was a luxury item anyway so using it's production to levy a tax seemed to make sense. The problem was that the farmers in Western Pennsylvania had no sense of humor about having a tax applied to them. A man could grow a crop of corn and it would fetch a nice profit when he sold the harvest. If he distilled the corn into liquior, the same amount of corn netted him many times the money he'd have made simply by selling his corn as is. Beginning in 1791 the western-PA farmers would travel around in bands and "rough-up" those assigned to collect the whiskey tax, even buring their homes down once in a while. By 1794 President George Washington had enough and put on his old army uniform and led a column of troops into the counties of southwestern Pennsylvania to restore order at last. The farmers disbanded and went home realizing that going up against the US Army wasn't going to end well for them at all; and that, as they say, was that. The sentimental value is that I was born and raised in that part of the country; Raccoon Township in Beaver County - PA. (Yes, there really is such a place) The whiskey tax was never easy to enforce and was repealed in 1800 but it marked the first time that the US government levied a tax and was prepared to use force to collect it. By flying the whiskey rebellion flag on April 15th, I'm not suggesting rebellion against the government nor skipping out on paying taxes. I'll fly this flag as a reminder that as US Citizens who fund the operations of our government with our taxes, we live in the shadow of the Whiskey Rebellion dating back to just after the American Revolution. Since we're picking up the tab for it, individually we need to stay involved in our government's affairs. Thanks for enduring my lecture. The Lord's richest blessings to you!

Nice Interesting Flag
I have been looking for one of these for a long time and this one didn't disappoint. It came in a very timely fashion and was of good quality manufacture just as advertised. I have gotten a good many questions from my neighbors as to its origin.

it was well priced and is a nice accent for indoors
While this is not the highest quality flag that can be purchased, it was well priced and is a nice accent for indoors. Flying it outside, however, will lead to a very short life span.

to be expected at this price.
Just cheap Chinese junk, to be expected at this price.Paper thin, terrible stitching. Dimensionally it is way off measurement. The 5' length is ok but the 3" height is 3'4" in the center and 3" on the ends. Lol, you missed the mark on that one?Mine is in the garbage can.

Bright colors
Thin and fragile but will work fine for occasional use. Great value and has been used many times and still looks fine.

Flags
A light weight flag and one seldom seen in historical settings or with other historical flags of our country. Interesting and colorful.

Great history
I ordered this flag Cruz I love flying flags of history so the people who walk down my street ask about them and learn about history on the fly. This flag was made just fine and has held up like it should in the wind and rain. No complaints.
