DOES kill mosquitoes - not all, but enough.
I live in Hawaii and recently moved to a new house that we could call "not airtight" (aka there are holes to the outside around the screens, in some places in the wall, etc.). So mosquitoes are getting in and they are probably the thing I hate most in the entire world (cockroaches are a close second). On the 1st night in our house, I woke up at 2am with bites all over my arms and had a tough time falling asleep, listening for the whines. Second night in the house I woke up in the morning with half a dozen bites on my face that were all swelled up and itched like crazy. So point is, these little unmentionables are ruining my sleep and greatly annoying me. I got this device without a huge amount of hope that it would make much of a dent, and I recognize that I am apparently particularly delicious (and the sellers say clearly that this will not entice mosquitoes away from a living, breathing, delicious person). But still, a girl can hope. This little killer arrived, I put it on my nightstand, and turned it on a few hours before bed, figuring maybe I'll get one or two. Don't think I noticed any captures in the lower area, and I turned it off before I went to sleep (and woke up in the middle of the night with bites). The next night, I left it on all night, even though glowing things tend to annoy me at night. Lo and behold, in the morning, it had captured 2 mosquitoes (one was dead, one was still flying around, so I turned the fan back on in a panic). We are now on night 3 and as I'm getting ready to go to bed, it appears to have 3 live mosquitoes in it.Again, I don't have any illusion that this will prevent all bites (me <-- delicious), but if I swat a mosquito away in the night and it goes to check out the pretty lavender light, I'm happy. Just watching the little guys die a slow death makes me happy. So rest assured, if you live in the tropics at least, this WILL kill some mosquitoes and reduce the time you have to spend hunting around your bedroom before going to sleep. Enjoy!

Fruitless effort for fruit fly control
I bought this product hoping to help with fruit flies without putting cups of vinegar all over the house. Unfortunately, it has been a huge disappointment. First complaint is it doesn't come with a regular plug, only a USB plug (yes, I did realize it before I bought it, but it more annoying than I anticipated...still bad on me because this was clearly stated in the product description). But, the biggest issues is it really doesn't pull in and kill the fruit flies. I have used it as described, I have tried adding a little 'bait' inside but nothing I have done seems to help. For anyone else who has gotten it to work, great for you. But, my house has been overrun by fruit flies since buying it - even in a target rich environment I'm having no luck. I did give it 2 stars instead of 1 because it has pulled in a few fruit flies (still not as much as a cup of wine).

It's okay, but probably shouldn't be advertised as a "mosquito" killer
The fan only seems to be strong enough to suck bugs that happen to fly very close to it. Light doesn't attract mosquitoes at all, but seems okay for moths and fruitflies. Traps some bugs while you're out of the house, but never a lot. It isn't reliable and hunting bugs by hand is still the most effective method for me.

If you want something good to kill insects buy an electric lamp trap
I use it for 3 days just to see if it works in different conditions, but it killed only one mosquito in those days and my house is full of mosquitos so i stop using this product. If you want something good to kill insects buy an electric lamp trap.

I've had it running none stop in the bedroom for ...
I've had it running nonstop in the bedroom for about a week now. Trying to catch a mosquito that was attacking my wife in the middle of the night. So far she's been attacked several nights with it running and nothing has been caught.

A Useless Fan and Light In A Plastic Housing That Does NOT Catch Mosquito's!! A Waste of your money...
I must say after reading all the reviews I was hopeful that this product would actually work. IT DOESN'T DO A DARN THING! It might as well be an electric ash tray or something because a mosquito catcher it is not. Let me tell you I gave it over a month of trying. Not a single mosquito was caught. During this time our home was infested with mosquito's inside and I had single handily killed dozens of mosquito (the old fashion way smashing them with my hand and I was bitten at least that many times too). The Oittm was running 24 hrs a day and in the main area of the home. Not one mosquito killed. Nothing. Zip. Okay, I understood that it was a gimmicky product, but I had figured that I would at least capture/kill one lousy mosquito. I think the reviews here on Amazon and the demonstration videos of dumping a pile of bugs on the counter top after running this useless device for a few days are all suspect. Save your money.
