Fabulous Tamales!!
I've always loved these since I was a child and Mom used to make them for us in a pinch. Mom says her Mom made them for her and her Dad back in the 40's and 50's and she loved them back then also! She says her Mom used to heat them in the sealed can in boiling water before opening them to serve. I heat them in the microwave in 3 minutes. They didn't have microwaves back then! Great taste that amazingly I don't get burned-out on. I bought two cases of 12 cans each and eat about one can/week and I always enjoy them. Can't beat the price. I want to have plenty of these available when society collapses and there is no more food available. LOL!

They are good!
I mentioned this purchase to my housekeeper and her comment was! "I don't like canned tamales" !!Of course, she makes tamales at home for Christmas and they are FAR superior to ANYTHING you can get in a can!I have to agree with her, but when home made tamales are not available, these canned ones will have to do!They are as good as you can expect for "mass produced tamales!!ACF

Quantity and Quality
Hawaii doesn't have a lot of places to get good Tamales 🫔 I am reverting back to the good old days of the can tamales. I Love Hormel . Much better than poorly made tamales !!!

I have been eating these for 60 years.
I'm pretty happy with the minimal ingredients in this age old quick food. These things are so delicious that it's very difficult to only eat them like once a week!

Terrible Sauce, even for Hormel! Shockingly bad chili.
Sorry I ever decided to buy these, I'm relatively Hormel tolerant too. In the past the only canned tamales I ever ate were Gebhardts which are no longer sold, but were tasty. These looked enough like those so wondered how much different could they be? Big mistake, they are nothing alike in reality, but only look similar. The taste is polar opposites.I cannot eat this 'chili' as they call it because it upsets my stomach. I've tried rinsing it off, but even that didn't help the heartburn or after taste. Meat inside is sub par which surprised considering how little of it there is, and usually Hormel meat is better quality. What amazes is how much I enjoy Hormel canned chili with beans over an omelet with cheddar, but whatever they used for this sauce is in no way the same. It's thin and runny and missing everything I like in their canned chili.UPDATE: I found a way to make these edible! Bay Valley Baja Chipotle Sauce is how I salvaged these after rinsing off the sauce these came in. Wanted to give these ONE more chance and remembered I have this sauce in the refrigerator and decided to give it a shot. Heated the tamales, added the sauce, heated them again, and what a huge difference that made. It's not the tamale that's so frightful, it's the sauce, so this is what they need to fix to make these something everyone might enjoy as a fast meal. I didn't want to be unfair and not update my findings about this and hope it will help others.
