This is the best pencil sharpener I've ever used.
If you're serious about pencils and pencil sharpening, this is probably the sharpener to end all sharpeners. It puts a long, concave, (almost) needle-fine point on your pencils. Worth the money if you're into this sort of thing.

Overpriced, ineffective
Successfully sharpened one pencil, one time. Every time after, the lead snaps before a full point is made. I have wasted several brand new pencils, sharpening until the lead snaps (unscrewing the blade to dislodge the lead fragment, because the lead fragment is *wedged in*) and repeating until the “new” pencil is whittled down to a nub you couldn’t use even if it did get a sharp point on it. Maybe this works better on expensive pencils (Blackwing?) but the way this chews through regular old Ticonderogas, I won’t be taking that chance!

Honestly. The only sharpener that matters.
As a illustrator and visual artist, I would like to say that a pencil sharpener is not just a pencil sharpener. I've always heard that these bullet style sharpeners are the best ones you can get. Now, I don't take disappointment well so I was really hesitant and skeptical because of the fact that it was extremely pricey and lacked a container for all the wood shavings. All I have to say is...BUY IT. I never get a broken lead, the end result is smooth and clean, always get a perfect point, and the concave shape means I get more lead surface to play with - not to mention it looks pretty sexy. Honestly, this is the only sharpener that matters.

Maybe the holy grail of sharpeners but pricy
This really is a great pencil sharpener at a pretty hefty price. But if you’re serious about your pencils and your sharpening this could well be it. Not to be disparaging but anyone who can’t use this sharper successfully You don’t need a bit more practice with it or is too fine a tool for their purposes. I would recommend replacing the blades occasionally. If 32 bucks is too much to pay for a pencil sharpener I would recommend checking out the round m+r sharpener — Also excellent at less than half the price. Also excellent at less than half the price of the round one would be the Kum two-step sharpener. You don’t have to pay 30+ bucks for an excellent sharpener. But if you don’t mind that this is a great one.

This product doesn’t sharpen pencils very well
I bought this product so I would have something small in my tool bag with which I could sharpen a pencil when I was on a job and needed to sketch or precisely mark something. I didn’t mind the high price because the product seems well made and durable but I’m extremely disappointed in it’s basic function as a pencil sharpener. Almost every time I use it the lead breaks in the pencil. It’s so frustrating having to make several attempts just to sharpen a pencil. A utility knife works better. It’s just not as pretty. Don’t waste your money on this product! Borrow your kids’s plastic sharpener from their school book bag.

Best hand sharpener; period.
A perfect concave point.

Overpriced
Since I use sharpers a lot I thought I’d see just how a sharpener can be worth $32.00. Unfortunately this one is NOT. Nothing wrong with it. I can get the same results though with my $6.00 Alvin Brass Bullet sharpener. Buy it and save your money for some quality Blackwing Pencils.

Started breaking leads after 1 day
It sharped the first 3 or 4 pencils to a really beautiful point. I was about to order a second one to take to work. Then I tried to sharpen a few more and now it breaks every pencil I try to sharpen with it. It also has gotten harder to turn as if it has gone blunt. I have gone through most of one brand new Blackwing Natural trying to sharpen it. It just kept breaking the lead off. I thought it might be the pencils but they sharpen just fine with Staedler.
