An Excellent Book for Young Girls
Very engaging! Made it fun for us. How important it is to learn to talk with your children about everything in the world. Show them our openness, readiness to help them figure it out and answer any question, give advice. This is what will help make our children truly free in the future: from complexes, prejudices, ignorance, other people's opinions and fears. The best way to talk about the important aspects of life is to provide a small princess with a special book about puberty, which will answer questions about the changes happening during this special time. The author describes the changes in a girl’s body, affecting her physical, psychological and emotional state. Puberty is often accompanied by emotional changes. Tearfulness, anger, anxiety, or ecstasy followed by irritation are all completely normal. Body changes, hormones, periods, skin changes, self-esteem issues, eating disorders, sweat, smells and personal hygiene-everything mentioned above is all about this book. I like the way these sensitive topics have been explained. The author has extensive experience in this field. The book encourages young girls to communicate with their parents and share all the smallest worries they may have about their physical or emotional condition. I was a little concerned about talking to my 9-year-old about puberty, body changes, and sex. I am hesitant and don't know how to say the correct things or how to express things the way I want to. I was afraid I'd make her feel embarrassed or make things unpleasant for her, causing her to retreat from me. This book is fantastic! My young child is a big fan of books, so we read this one together. Some things are terrifying, especially for a 9-year-old, but reading this with her helped her realize that she could share everything. I even discovered that some things worried her mind and heart. She considered herself to be fat and unattractive. I was pretty shocked. At 9 y.o. WHAT?! What I like about this book is a positive body image. The author explains that every small lady is one of a kind and diets are detrimental and inappropriate for growing girls at this age! This book is worth reading for teaching these subjects and getting to know your daughter better!

Down to Earth. Update to date with modern times
On googling on the best books for puberty/periods/books for girls I came across a list that listed this book as one of the best along with others. One of the others I also bought but on another site. I'll tell you more about this one later in my review.I searched this book, read reviews, looked at photos that other reviewers had taken and also read some of the book in a preview.I found with all this in hand and especially the preview pages, I thought this book was more to my liking. It reminded myself of how I have spoken to my daughter about her body and mind changing so thought it would be great for my daughter to read at her own pace and leisure, for those times where she didn't want to talk about such things. Because, sometimes these conversations lead to other topics which we both enjoy discussing but you know how it is, we can be tiered or busy so it's nice for us to have a book to refer to in our moments of quiet time.We received this book today. On time. And in very good condition. Just like new but cheaper.I brought it in and asked my daughter if she minded me having a flick-through first. More so I knew what was in the book, and how the text came across so that when the time came for my daughter to come to me and talk about what she'd read I could speak to her in the same manner. Although I don't need to as the text is how I'd speak.I found this book very interesting, clear, friendly and informative, but in a lighthearted manner and to an 8 year old and above mind set, and understanding.I would recommend this to schools, parents and carers, boys and girls of all ages above 7. And to any groups such as youth clubs, anyone who provides advice to young people , especially if there are young people who can't go to family members, this is a book to read, lend and share. Now onto the other book I bought from the online list of the 10 best. It's called Hello.floAbsolutely hilarious introduction. I had also read the reviews, preview pages and photos. The preview pages sold it for me. It won't be to everyone's liking but if you're down to earth, comical, laid back, even if you're not it may open you up. It is hilarious. Maybe more aimed at your 11 + child for sure. But everyone Is different and all depends on mind set but I rate it as highly as the above. Check it out. See what you think. Its like marmite, you'll love it, or hate it 😄 but back to Grow up and love your body. It too is an awesome book which informs you on puberty, the Internet, friendships, everything you and your daughter needs for this time of their life, in these modern times. Happy reading

Brilliant Guide!
I gave this book to my little girl after going through it myself, and it's been a positive impact on us both. She is still reading it but I have read it and I am confident to let her explore this on her own. Exploring this book is bringing us closer and strengthening the bond between us as she now finds it easier to ask me hitherto "difficult" questions and I find it easier to reply. I have been dreading the"talk" and wondering how to go about it but this book does a good job of defining everything you would want your precious little girl to know. Society has always imposed its idea of the "perfect" body on girls which is so unrealistic because we are different and can't all be the same. The beauty of the universe lies in the variety of the species that are in it and human beings are no different, male and female alike. Unrealistic expectations and imagery of the so-called "perfect" female body have driven a lot of girls over the precipice mentally, some have ended up with various eating disorders and a few have sadly committed suicide. The onus is on us as parents to get this book into the hands of our little girls so they can be rightly guided. It will help them break the bias, crush stereotypes and stand shoulder, loving their bodies and who they are.
