Good design is working within constraints to solve a problem. Finding the ideal balance for opposing constraints is the challenge. Comfort and durability are generally opposed in leather saddles. But we've struck the balance. In X Series, a soft full grain leather top is supported by a thick stiffer laminate layers and 4130 chromoly rails. Comfort has a name. We call it Flex-Fly. The specific shape of our patented slot's inverted rear wings allows the saddle to move with you. It reduces perineal pressure, sit bone pain, and saddle sores. This saddle has no break in period. It feels good from day one. The thick support layer helps increase the longevity of the saddle and provide the right amount of elasticity under your sit bones.

Maybe a dud?
I REALLY wanted to like this saddle, I'm a huge fan of American made products and also understand that you get what you pay for. This is a relatively expensive bike saddle, and American made, sounds great right? Nope, at least for me. I've got 2hrs of seat time on mine so far inside my garage with my bike on the training stand. This saddle has never even been outside. After my first hour the leather sagged to the point that I was sitting on the seat post, fine, I retentioned it, maybe it needed to break in. 2 days later, another 1hr ride, same thing, back on the seat post. I tentioned it again but I'm throwing in the towel, there's only 1/2" of thread left, and I know it'll sag more. I don't understand why it's doing this, none of my Brook's saddles have ever done this, maybe I got a dud, I'm not over their specified weight for the saddle and since it hasn't been outside it hasn't gotten wet. I'm thankful for Amazon's return policy, this is my first Selle Anatomica saddle and will be my last, never would I expect to see a $165 saddle live 2hrs. I really hope mine was just a dud but I don't want to spend the money to try another.

beautiful, needed a little trim, then very comfortable
The seat looks great and was comfortable from the first ride in terms of hardness. However, the saddle leather is trimmed at 90 degrees square and the edges flare out, so the sharp corner of the leather scrapes and chafes. After 20 minutes smoothing the edges where it rubs on your inner leg and inside the cutout for the perineum, the seat feels like butter. To smooth the edges, I used a new X-acto knife blade and cut bevels all around, rubbed in some leather oil, then burnished the leather with a smooth screwdriver shaft. The saddle is also squeaky as you pump your legs or bounce on rough terrain, but it becomes silent if you lubricate around the tensioning mechanism and where it pivots on the frame at the front of the seat.

Nose was too round and narrow for me, perfect though for sitbone relief
I wanted to like it, but just couldn't.Yes my bike fit was good. Yes I set it up correctly per the website and video. The pressure off the sit bones was heaven, 6 stars out of 5.However, I am the type of rider who likes a wider, flatter-nosed saddle, like a Pro Stealth (my current favorite). This saddle has a narrower, more rounded nose, and it stuck into me more forcefully on account of the sitbone area being more of a hammock that you sit IN, not ON.I also was a little surprised to see some rivets not fully flush to the leather, perhaps I was being overly ambitious with regard to what handmade American saddle means though, at this price point.I am 6'4" 210-215lbs built like a rugby / soccer player for reference.

Item that I got appears "used"
Just got the item. I unpacked it and right away I could tell something wasn't right. There are clearly two indentations in the leather. What could have made those indentations? Maybe someone else's hip bones? WTH! As much as this saddle costs you'd expect that they'd send you a brand new one, not a used one. This sucks. I'm sending it back today for a replacement. I'll update this once I get it and have had a chance to try it out.

Broke after 6weeks of use
In outfitted my bikepacking bike with this saddle in October got very little use till I sold all my bikes about 6 weeks ago then been using it for commuting and a few trips and first day on a 3 day trip both back horns snapped. It held up over the next 100 or so miles but the sharp edges were getting me when the horns turned outward. Waiting th hear back from them.Update: customer service was good and sent out replacement parts quickly so awaiting arrival and to rebuild the saddle. Not many saddles can be rebuilt so that is a plus.

The Most Comfortable Bicycle Saddle I’ve Ever Had the Pleasure of Sitting On!
This bike saddle is a great fit right out of the box! There is no uncomfortable “break-in” period which is typical of leather bike saddles. True confession... this is my third Selle Anatomica saddle (purchased for my n+1 new Trek Domane+ ebike.)It is true that bike saddles are not “one saddle fits all” and what fits well for me may not be a good fit for others. However, for those who enjoy the support and feel of a well-made leather saddle which provides that “sweet spot” feeling and saddle comfort each and every ride... give Selle Anatomica a try.

Excellent leather saddle for the money
I really like that it has a handle on the back. The leather punch in the front is slightly off center and it seems to be breaking in more on one cheek than the other but I have about 300 miles on it so far and it just keeps feeling better and better. I'm also pushing 165lbs and its comfortable for a big guy.

Comfortable saddle for hard rides...
Have been cycling for many years. Developed a comfort problem, found this Selle Anatomica which was a perfect solution---ie, this saddle allows me to have a bit of motion in the saddle. I love this saddle..
