Outstanding irrigation system controller

I have this at a beach house and I can control the system from my primary home (160 miles away). It gives me peace of mind to know that I can control it AND there are so many other conditions that the system monitors (weather, wind, Temp, rainfall) to optimize irrigation. Also I gave access to my irrigation guy so he can access if something fails. I would like to get one for my primary house when they go on sale.

Works as advertised, wi-fi connection makes this a terrific device worth buying..

I live in a community where the HOA has a landscape contracted company and when I had the manual hunter water irrigation system I would find my zones and days of watering were constantly being changed by the landscapers causing my water bill to be extremely higher then expected and then I found the Hunter PRO-HC and now I finally have control over my watering schedules. This smart controller runs off a app that will follow the local weather and make adjustments if there is rain falling or predicted to fall by simply skipping the day. No more relying on the water sensor system which I found many times to be wrong and the best thing is that I can turn on my system anywhere in the world and even make changes to the schedule . This controller comes with a free app called hydrawise and I can run reports and see my water usage and compare them to what my city is billing me. The app is extremely user friendly and at the time of this review there are no monthly fees to use this app. This app also monitors the system and looks for damaged/broken sprinkler heads and will notify me immediately! Installing the new Hunter controller took me less then 45 minutes to mount and install the zones. Be sure to take pictures with your smart phone of your current water controllerwiring before disconnecting as you will need this information when installing the zones onto the new Hunter controller. I can’t say enough positive things about this controller and now that I’m saving on my water bill it’s a win win!

The product works as advertised and makes irrigation simple with its wireless app. Functionally it’s great. However, the plastic box itself isn’t adequately prepared for installation. The case has 1 predrilled hole and 2 non-predrilled outline holes on the plastic bottom for an external wire conduit to slide into. One center, left, and right. In the advertised picture above you’ll see the center hole is cutout with the wires feeding through it. My unit had the far right hole precut but the center and left one was not. I needed the center one cut out. So I had to get creative and perform my own cutout of the center. Which requires additional tools and time. Furthermore, the backplane doesn’t have a predrilled hole for the external house electrical wires that need to splice and connect to the internal unit wires. So Again I had to create my own hole to feed the wires directly through the back of the unit. Unit works great, and looks good. Besides those inconveniences I’m happy with the purchase.

I called a company asking them to install. They wanted to charged me $600 including installation. The guy admitted it wouldn’t be more than 30 minutes. I thought to myself why am I paying you then about $400 for 30 minutes of labor, which is $800 an hour! I went online to see a couple of videos and voilà. Seemed easy enough. It was super easy to install. The app works great ( but I seem to not be able to upload pics to it, which I’m not sure why). I highly recommend this product. I went from old rotary to this new device. Amazing!!! Attached is what I was using. By the way, mine included a plug so I could easily plug into a nearby outlet.

Great options but not user friendly; poor instructions. Hard to use if you don't operate these systems regularly. I don't think this is a good option for a homeowner but seems it may be good for commercial owner with several systems.

This product was introduced to me when we had our front yard redone (no grass; just plants). I asked the guy if there were any wifi controllers on the market. He said yes, and that they weren't all that much more expensive. I don't have many zones, so it is not a complicated setup. He set up my front controller. I bought the second one (this one under review) for the backyard to replace one of the older simpler models. The backyard is even simpler since it has only one zone, but it wouldn't have been all that hard to set up six zones. Easy to install, easy to program, easy to adjust. I plan to recommend a larger model for my son's yard that has 10 zones to replace the two different controllers he has.

Lo recomiendo para el riego de jardines y arboles. Fácil de instalar y de programar se conecta al movil con la app, solo tiene que tener ruter de wifi cerca.
