Welcome to St. Hell: My Trans Teen Misadventure: A Graphic Novel Paperback – June 7, 2022

I came to write this review right after I finished because I wanted to say how much I loved this book! It was so charming, and funny and I personally resonated a lot with young Lewis. I went through a lot of the same feelings about body image and feeling like an alien in my own body. I wish I'd had a book like this when I was a teen.

I really really love this book, I’m already finished reading it and I can’t wait to read the next one. I’m not trans but I understand about body dystrophy I know I have it. I am pansexual, gender fluid and queer. Took me my whole life to come out. It was a lot harder in 80’s and 90’s to be me and I didn’t like labels so highly recommended if you feeling not like yourself to read this book!

I’ve grown up around trans friends, and LGBTQ community. My uncle, as well as my sibling are gay, and gay culture has always been something I’ve grown up with. When I got a bit older I developed friendships with trans individuals and it was a learning experience, since I came from a very sheltered high school and middle school. This book fully communicates the trans experience in my opinion and can better help others to understand those around them who are transitioning. Thank you Lewis for sharing your story, you’re awesome.

Love the art. I have never been a graphic novel person but this made me change. The story is detailed and true! You should read this.

i opened the book to peek and got hooked to the book. Got this for my boyfriends little brother who’s in the same stages as well, hope he enjoys it as much as i did. Amazing book definitely worth it!

Funny and so adorable! I love Lewis’s relationship with his mom! It’s so addictive I read the whole book in a single sitting! There is a few strips of nudity as well as a couple suggestive scenes (very brief), so absolutely intended for kids who have/are learning about puberty! And of course, you get what you pay for. If you buy a book written by a trans man telling his story, of course you’re going to have trans representation. Over all, so, so adorable!

I discovered Lewis through TikTok and even showed a few of his videos to my mom. While I’m a bit younger than Lewis, my mom and I laughed at his videos because they reminded us of my emo teen self. While our journeys in life are hardly similar, and I still identify with my biological sex, I absolutely loved this book and told my therapist friend about it. She made a note to recommend it to some of her young clients going through their own trans journeys. Thank you Lewis for reminding me of my teenage emo escapades and making the world seem not-so-lonely for those struggling with their true selves. It’s needed today more than ever. ♥️

this book is a really fun read. i finished it in 2 days and i recommend it to any one who is into this type of stuff.
