I used a squirt but my guess would be one teaspoon. It works great! I'm so happy I bought this product.Good luck!

I do not wear birkenstocks but it works on my vionic sandals, so I would say yes.

Q: Should I use it as soon as I get the shoes or wait?

Would wait till they need cleaning. Really like this product it does a great job.

Q: Can this be used on leather footbeds?

I mix it with water and spray it in all my shoes, including leather
