5 Empty Standard Playstation 3 Replacement Cases (PS3 Replacement Cases)

This is my first Amazon review and I am writing it in response to another review that claims PS3 games (specifically the artwork) do not fit correctly. I recently ordered a 5-pack and when they arrived I tested them out on multiple games. Each one fit perfectly. Do not let that review affect your decision to purchases these cases.If you're just interested in getting some good PS3 replacement cases, then get these. If you are seriously concerned about how these compare to official PS3 cases (in minute detail), then read on.As a game collector that is relatively obsessed with keeping my collection as pristine as possible, there are a couple (minor) things you should be aware of:First, these are not proprietary PS3 cases made by Sony. They are from a third-party and are actually Blu-Ray cases, with the Blu-Ray logo top center on the front of the case. The logo is small and clear, so it did not bother me (as many of my PS3 games have a Blu-Ray logo on them in the upper right). They do not say PlayStation or PS3 on them anywhere, but like I said, this didn't bother me. I checked my PS3 games and actually most of them had the Blu-Ray logo instead of the PS3 logo (albeit in a slightly different position than the logo on these cases).Second, the cases are rather light and thin. They are not the same thickness and sturdiness as an official PS3 case, but they are the exact same dimensions as far as height and width and are almost indistinguishable when sitting on the shelf. You can definitely tell the difference in weight and sturdiness when you hold the cases.Third, I say they are "almost" indistinguishable because they are actually a TINY bit more transparent than the official cases (but there is so little difference that I seriously doubt you would even notice. From more than 12 inches away, you can't tell them apart. Even still, you wouldn't notice unless you KNEW that one was a replacement case). Also, these cases seem to have a slightly higher gloss to the front plastic than official cases, however this is barely noticeable as well.Fourth, there are occasionally small pieces of dirt/dust in and on the cases. Most of the time, these can be wiped off easily. However, rarely there are extremely small imperfections in the cases. It looks as if some dust particles or something got into the plastic as it was being pressed, because they cannot be wiped off. None of these were visible after putting the disc, manual, and artwork in, but you should still be aware. Also, none of the imperfections were ever in the front cover plastic (which would be the only thing that really matters).Conclusion: EXCELLENT cases for the price. Like I said, if you want some good (not perfect, but good) replacement PS3 cases, then get these. Absolutely none of the small considerations I listed would affect my decision to purchase these cases in the future.Would I pay a lot of money for these cases? No.Would I buy more at this price? Yes.Would I use these cases to replace my entire PS3 collection? No.Are they more than adequate to replace a broken or damaged case? 100% yes.

These are a must-have for any collector that has PS3 games without a case. The case art can be printed up easily from the internet and they fit perfectly in these exact fit cases

If you are a collector, you may want authentic looking cases. There are 2 styles of white cases currently in use by PS3 games, one has the Blue Ray logo at the upper right, the others have it at the left along with a big PLAYSTATION molding on the right.These are not like either, having the Blue Ray log in the center.Inside, the booklet handle is also different, and there seems to be an small but odd gap at the top of the case spine where the door bits meet.Despite this, they are good cases and seem to fit either type of my games. If you have some old gunky cases, or completely shattered ones, then you may like having these replacements instead. But should you be looking for a perfect replacement that looks like the real thing to make your collection look mint, then look elsewhere because this won’t meet that need.

I had ordered these once before through a friend before I got my own Amazon account. There are 100% genuine PS3 cases (as they should be, coming from Sony and all). I got these to replace a few tattered and broken cases from used games I had gotten over time and now they look good as new! Definitely a good buy. These are also great if you're one of those people who makes custom game cases for people. Another use is to replace the cheesy generic cases companies like Gamestop gives out when they don't have the original case so you can just print out your own cover art and voila, your games are much more presentable. I'm quite looking forward to getting my next set!

Always loved transparent cases, and since I had some of the Greatest Hits cases or chipped/cracked/broken cases, I bought these to fix that and as a collector, I also get ocd about the price stickers some stores put onto their cases that leave behind a sticky surface when you try to remove it. Having it look clean is just nice. I do not believe these are official ps3 cases (as said in another review) but without comparing them thoroughly, you would not tell the difference. They look just like some of my ps3 cases. All of my cases arrived with no problems.

The push button is either a little big or a little stiff. I have to apply too much force to actually fit the discs around the button. It also has sort of rough edges on the button itself. I’d rather continue using the slightly cracked original cases that I have.

This case is almost exactly like the original for ps3, the only differences I notice is the weight, this is a little lighter than originals, the square clips inside to hold the manual are smaller but work fine, the upper blu-ray logo is at the center instead of the right and the plastic is less transparent but this is only noticeable without the artwork. The size is identical, holds disc perfect and no problem replacing the artwork. I use them to replace bad shape used game cases making them look and feel new.
