I was very impressed with the amount of projects as well as the quality of them. There is something that will appeal to just about every different age and type of child. I love that all the projects use natural items you might find in your home or around your backyard. In a day and age where every child's toy on the market has bells, whistles, noises, pieces that come apart and are all made with plastic, it's wonderful to see a book of toys for children that rejoices in the beauty of nature all around us.This book is certainly worth purchasing!

This wonderful book is a must have for teachers, parents, grandparents, or anyone working with children. Joel Henriques, Northwest creator of the book, Made to Play; Handmade Toys & Crafts for Growing Imaginations, gives the reader many suggestions for 35 small, simple-to-make projects. This book is practical and inspiring. And the best part is that my girls love playing with the toys that I've made. Thank you, Joel. Keep up the great work and I hope you come up with another book!

Just what we all need to do -- you don't need to have children to appreciate this book. Just grab your inner child by the hand, find some "stuff" and have fun creating! I plan to use this with my transitional kinders the next few years, but meanwhile, I'm just havin' fun with it all on my own!

Beautiful book about crafts for children.

Joel's book is fabulous. I teach 7 & 8 graders art and used ideas from this book and his website for a great unit this past fall. The kids had a blast. As a mom of four boys I wish I'd had this when they were little!

I often find books like Made to Play! rather intimidating and never use any of the ideas. Made to Play is beautifully written, inspiring, easy to follow, and rich with practical, entertaining, and original ideas. I not only want to create many of these projects, I believe I can thank to Mr. Henriques understandable directions and drawings. I was amazed by how generous he is on his website, madebyjoel.com. There are so many free projects and beautiful and creative coloring pages! The website and this book are a part of our family fun times from now on! Thank you Joel Henriques!

I loved the website, so I thought I'd like the book too. I was right! It's full of great ideas with easy to follow instructions for parents and kids to make together.

Adatto a bambini e genitori che amano creare conle proprie mani qualsiasi tipo di lavoretto.Libro in inglese, ma di facile comprensione.Dal sito è possibile scaricare le immagini da stampare dei progetti.Lo consiglio a chi ha bimbi creativi e anche a chi vuole iniziare a creare con i propri bambini.

Scritto in inglese, ma intuitivo, completo di disegni da copiare che stanno alla fine del libro. Peccato soltanto che qui in Italia non si riescano a trovare le stesse marche di colori acrilici e per stoffa che usa il geniale autore per le sue creazioni. Lo consiglio anche per il messaggio che ci sta dietro, un invito a fare piccole cose col cuore per i propri figli

Doable ideas! This book is full of fun things to make with or for your children to play and use their imagination. We are truly enjoying this book. Nice gift for a young family as well.

Wunderschönes Buch mit hohem gestalterischen und dabei geringem handwerklichen Anspruch - sprich, die Projekte kann wirklich jeder nachmachen, häufig aus Materialien, die eh schon zu Hause rumliegen und praktisch nichts kosten. Dennoch sind die so gezauberten Spielsachen sehr gut durchdacht, pädagogisch wertvoll und einfach schön. Dicke Kaufempfehlung!
