Making Words Second Grade: 100 Hands-On Lessons for Phonemic Awareness, Phonics and Spelling

Recommended by a special ed teacher, I started using this to tutor one of my dyslexic students. We were only able to use it for the last few weeks of school but saw immediate improvement!

I've loved Making Works for years. I do Daily Five work my second grade class. Nearly all the kids prefer the"words" center, where I write out the clues/steps for the Making Words lessons. They love finding the mystery word each day!

Love it and most importantly my students love it. They keep asking me, "Are we doing making words today?" They also love the mystery word part of making words. They have made the comment, "I love making words" whenever we are having our lessons. Highly recommend it teachers!

I love this book. I can pick lessons that supplement the phonic skills of the week and roll with it. It gives my students the practice they need to bridge the gap between making words and reading words. I would highly recommend it.
