WEN Metal Band Saw with Stand (BA4664), Black

I purchased this bandsaw to replace a Dewalt 14" Chop Saw. After making a few adjustments and modifications it works great. Added some casters to it. The hole at the bottom of each leg is not sturdy enough to work with the casters. So, I have to add an aluminum plate. Horizonal. I drilled a hole in the plate to attach the casters to the legs. Now, I can roll it around with ease.

I just put this saw together. Good instructions, and we'll built. I will update if anything changes.

You get what you pay for - saying that - it's a good value at a reasonable price. A hydraulic damper would be much better than the spring thing but I'm getting by. The stand seems kinda flimsy but I'm living with it. Make sure you put the lock pin in to hold the saw down before you try to move it. If not it will flip up and tip over. How would I know that? Yeah dented the belt guard pretty bad but survived other than that. You're gonna need to be mechanically inclined to get it set up right - manual is pretty lame and factory setup was ball park. I've seen this same saw wearing other brand names for much more $$$.

Takes a little while to cut certain steels..but the one thing I love about it is,it cuts so smooth…I don’t have to do anymore grinding work on the steel to clean up the edges ,like I used to have to when I used a grinder or chop saw,saves me a lot of time on pieces …I recommend for both home and shop use…make sure to keep the blade lubed/oiled

This is a great little saw for the price. I'm a diy'er & hobbyist and this saw is more than accurate and powerful enough for most home use. Easy to setup and works right out of the box. A friend suggested changing the gear oil because these Chinese products are notorious for bad oil and metal shavings in the gear box. I will do that soon and update this review with the results.

Have had the machine about 10 months and it hasn’t held up. Opened up the gear box last week to discover the gears were completely chewed. This replaced the similar harbor freight machine that I had for the last 6 years. I will be grabbing another HF unit.

I purchased this put together in one evening. This was not due to the accuracy and detail of the instruction sheet (poorly written Really need to send them an edited version ) but the fact that youtube exists and you can find help there.The construction and attention to detail is at best average with many discrepencies, You will need to do grinding and adjustments to be able to use this saw. With that said if you watch youtube you will find some MODs that will improve the performance and quality of work for this saw. This of course if added to assembly time will mean that you will spend approximately 12 hours or more on assembly.However with MODs this saw does work well for the money but you have to decide the value of your time.Note: One thing this and other WEN products I have purchased have going for them is that they have excellent Customer Service that has been attentive to my needs when I needed replacement part for the sawWEN products I ownThis metal saw, Wood band saw, Drill press and drywall sander. The other items performed to expectations just a shame the metal saw did notIf WEN had performed the MODs that I had to do, then I would be saying 5 stars for value and 4 stars overall

The media could not be loaded. After seeing some reviews about the Harbor Freight bandsaw, I decided to spend a little more money and got this saw. The guides were good to go right out of the box. Some minor adjusting of the blade pulleys and this thing was rocking perfect cuts almost right away. I like it so far.
