Our previous retractable dog leash we thought was a good one, had used it for years but thank goodness the unexpected happened within our fenced in yard. Our dog was healing after a leg injury and had to be leashed, we were coming down the stairs when a squirrel ran next to the fence line, dog took off and leash not only didn’t retract but completely tore out of its case. Thankfully her leg was okay but leash had to be replaced but this time with a thicker and more sturdier one snd this was it. My husband also loves it because his hands are large and they fit better in this handle that they did with the smaller one.

Easy to retract and easy to lock and can withstand my Husky when he's pulling

I got the leash recommended for a 60lb dog. It works great but the clasp to attach to the collar is very small considering it’s supposed to work for a 60lb dog. I only really noticed because it’s much smaller than the leash I was replacing. It could do with a better clasp for the weight. Otherwise I would suggest getting the bigger one even if your dog is only 50lbs.

I replaced a cheaper 8ft lead to give our dog more room on the leash and it hasn’t disappointed. Feels very sturdy and well built.

I must have purchased this retractable leash a year ago for my 14-pound dog. I like have a retractable leash so he can roam when he wants but I can also pull him back when needed. The handle is large enough for me and my husband to fit our hand through and the retracting mechanism works great still.

love the color! I have small hands so its hard to find a retractable leash where i can hold the handle and reach the pause button. so this is perfect! very lightweight. wish it came with doggy bags. still a good buy!

I have both a Labrador and a Cocker Spaniel so I purchased a large and a medium. I have owned many leashes but this one is superior to all the other leashes for several reasons:1. Locking system is very easy to use and reacts quickly.2. The "ribbon" leash is made of very tough material and has additional stitching that makes it stand out-night or day and easily moves in out and of the leash.3. The leash itself is very light weight yet well made and the handle is soft and easy to hold but also allows a firm grip.4. The leash lock that secures it to the collar is very well made and can swivel to accommodate where the collar is--also being black helps hide dirt and keeps the lock looking clean.I highly recommend this product.

This leash seems to be reasonably well made. The brake/lock feature is easy to use and that is good and bad. Good because a simple press brakes and a quick slide forward locks. Bad because the press forward to lock is hard to avoid, particularly when the dog is lunging, as mine does. The result is that you brake and release to shorten the leash, but unless you slide backwards, it remains locked and the leash doesn't retract. That's a real problem when the dog lunges at another dog or a person. Even if you do it right, the retractor spring is weak and it doesn't retract as quickly as it should for safety in such situations.
