Good bang for your buck, room for some simple DIY tweaks
Works as advertised, it's compact, temperature regulated, comes with a reasonable accessory package (though i prefer a metal-type tip cleaner), and it's cheap. That said, it could also use some minor tweaks.First, there's a significant air gap between the ceramic heating element and the inside of the iron tip. Air is a good insulator, so thermal performance can be greatly improved by bridging the gap. I recommend wrapping a layer of appropriate copper foil around the hot zone on the heater (briefly turn the iron on with no tip installed - it will be obvious where that is).Second, I wasn't convinced the tip of the heater (presumably with the thermocouple in it) was solidly contacting the inside of the iron tip. If not, this would greatly slow the iron's response to changes in tip temperature (you know, actually soldering stuff). This is probably overkill, but here goes: I filed the corners of the PCB (specifically the ones on the heating element end) so it could slide in and out of the housing slightly when assembled. The only circuitry on the board in this area is the ground contact for the heater support and tip retainer, which runs directly to the ground pin on the power cord. I then added a spring around the power cord at the other end of the PCB, such that it's trying to push the board out of the housing. The power cord just slides through the strain relief and there's a fair amount of open space at the butt end of the board for said spring. The large plastic nut and heating element support keep the board in, but the heater now protrudes out slightly further (however much you filed off the PCB) and has spring force pushing it out.Drop a tip on the heating element and there should be a slight gap between the butt of the tip and the heater support. Pushing on the tip should close the gap thanks to the spring, and the gap should open back up when released. The tip of the heating element is being held against the inside of the tip with spring force. Install the retainer and you're done.

Great kit with a mobile case, but..
I love this kit and the case it came in. At this price, you can't beat it. I haven't got a chance to use the tools all that much yet, so I'm not sure about the longevity of the kit - However, it does seem high quality and I would expect it to last a long time.I gave it a 4/5 because it doesn't come with any tip tinner, which is required if you're going to be soldering a lot and don't want to ruin your equipment.

Soldering kit
Received product on time, now with other required products I can initiate and affect positive repairs to a very touchy circuit board that should have been free of defects in the first place. This soldering set meets 80% of your needs so prior to taking on Such a project you will need sharp side cutters, heat sinks, and ample magnification. Put this kit to good use yesterday with very small heat cencitive solder connections and it performed wonderfully. I had to do all of the work under a magnifying glass well lit. The tinning paste is correct the solder sucker is good all of the implements are great easy to handle even in rubber gloved. The gun is good once you find your heat desired the on off switch is solid and the gun reacts quickly.

Stopped working after a single use
I was only able to get one use out of the soldering iron before the whole thing shorted out and refused to heat up any. The light that indicates when the iron is hot or in sleep mode will work but the iron itself won't. I'm pretty irritated about it cause of how much it cost. Also my one use was just for soldering 2 wired in my truck. Then a few days later I went to use it again and it refused to work. I tried several different temps and none worked.

Great soldering iron kit because it has everything you need to get the job done
I am a beginning using soldering. I have some toys that I like to fix it for my son and a personal LED project that I am building. This kit has all the tools that I need to get both of these jobs done. Here are some pros that I like about this kit which heats up quick, lightweight, 5 different size tips, and desoldering pump. Overall, I am very happy with this product and highly recommend it.

this is a perfect kit for an economical price
I am a novice, and I am learning to cut hair from YouTube. If you are looking for something to use at home, this is a perfect kit for an economical price! For novices like me...use a comb as a guard for anything shorter than 3mm. Saved my boyfriend at least $120 worth of haircut in 12 weeks. Great deal!

All about the tools
Initially loved this kit but after about a month of use am beginning to hate it. The temperate dial is located in a bad position and is constantly inadvertently getting turned to the wrong temperature. Very annoying. Also, the tips go bad quick. I've taken extra care to clean and make sure tips are good to go when needed. Tips with this kit just die for some reason even though cleaned and maintained. The solder is cheap, so cheap I fear it may have lead in it so I stopped using it. Tools with the kit make the value price point for the overall kit. Otherwise nah.

Better than I expected
This kit has been awesome for several reasons. One, the case is super nice and prevents clutter. Two, it heats up super fast. Three, it is super easy to clean with the copper brush. Four, the price I got during a sale was too good to be true, but it turned out to be true, lol. Anyways, I love the product and would recommend it to anybody.
