Nathan James Theo 5-Shelf Wood Modern Bookcase, Open Wall Mount Ladder Bookshelf with Industrial Metal Frame, Gray Oak/Black

I love love love this shelf unit! I have been wanting to finish my kitchen and was told that I cannot put cabinetry above the butcher block countertop area because behind that wall on the right side is the fuse box. I was bummed out for a while and was looking for the types of shelves that would hang from the ceiling and found them to be incredibly expensive and they didn't hang down low enough from my 10 foot ceilings to be practical. Because this unit is 6 feet tall and you only need 2 screws at the top of the unit to secure it in place, I thought I should try it. My husband and I put it together the moment it arrived and it was as easy as can be. from the moment I stood it up on the counter and felt how sturdy it was I was certain that the two screws holding it onto the wall would finally add some interest on that side of my kitchen. I included a couple pictures because although it is not advertised that it can sit on top a secured piece of furniture, it may give all you DIYers some creative ideas. My suggestion is to put a tablecloth on a big table and balance it out by doing the top shelf and then the bottom one. Oh, and use a electric screwdriver with a hex bit - for the love of God. Easy Peezy! The instructions are incredibly easy and almost fun read to put together. You really do get a lot of bang for your buck with this one.

Really upset- the description says “reclaimed wood”, and when you get the package it also says the shelves are “reclaimed maple”, and they are really press board with a veneer over top.

Highly recommend! Extremely sturdy- love that it attaches to the wall so it doesnt move. It was also super easy to put together. The wood is thick and a bit heavier so you can add heavy books without it sagging in the center. The metal is also very sturdy and wont budge. Everything lines up perfectly when attaching shelves to unit. but you can double check when attaching to the wall that its leveled (it was perfect). There was absoloutely no damages to mine on the wood or metal (i purchased 2 bookcases in black and walnut)Took me about 20 mins to put together and attach to the wall (im a girl with NO building experience). All screws including drywall screws were provided.Came 3 days earlier than expected (during covid lockdown where everything is delayed).Would highly recommend.

I’m so happy I decided to purchase this shelf. It was super easy to install by myself and it looks great. Including unpacking it, it took me roughly 20 mins to install each shelf. I also purchased the Nathan James desk to go alongside it. The shelves are not real wood but a laminated MDF which I don’t mind cause there still really sturdy. If you mount the shelf in a stud you will be fine but if not I don’t recommend using the screws and plugs they provide as there small and crappy. I personally used metal plugs and the shelf isn’t going anywhere. The price is pretty high for this product not to have real wood shelves but I totally recommend this product.

Overall I am super happy with the final look. It's the closest thing I could find to what I wanted, at a reasonable price. I was eyeing the CB2, but at mode than triple the price of the size I needed, it wasn't an option for me.The installation was pretty simple and took no more than 30min. The issue we had was the screws seeming not sturrdy enough, so we used a more sturdy anchor that we had on hand.The look is sleek, simple, a classy. I cannot wait to decorate it with items. I have to say there are a few strange marks that almost each of the shelves had which I am unable to remove.... It's not a deal breaker but you should be aware if you're a perfectionist this may irritate you (see photos attached).Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase and overall look of the product. As you can see I installed two side by side and really like the look.
